Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Has anyone heard anything about dining packages for Rivers of Light? I have reservations for Tusker House in August, but I would obviously like to change that to a dining package if possible. I haven't seen anything.
We're all waiting to find out if the show is even going to be open by then. It's all very, very sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Likewise! DH wanted to "wing it" on this trip and I couldn't do it. I've just been making plans without telling him all the details but I really think that using TP this time and planning in breaks will make it feel more relaxed/like not every single minute is planned. Last night DH asked what we'd be doing on our arrival day, though, and I started rattling off our touring plan for that afternoon. He said, "Wow... you really are crazy about this stuff. But I guess that's a good thing!"
I'm going with my 2 boys and my parents this trip (DH working), and Dad was very much like " I'm not planning my meals 6 months in advance...I'm not planning FP 2 months in advance!" Well, he didn't have to...I did...lol. Now let's hope he sticks to the schedule. If he wasn't so stubborn, he'd realize how much this will help us - like you said. Mom has done enough research, she knew we had to, but she had me do all the heavy lifting and just chimes in occasionally.

I really like TouringPlans' Lines app! I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago and plan to use it to reference my personalized plans while we're in the parks for our upcoming trip.

I have Lines but it's not really what I am looking for. Basically I'd just like something like MDE where it lists you all FP+ and ADR for the day but I'd like to add some personal notes to it, like park hours, tips from Josh and Kenny and such. Before MDE I always wrote it down in a notebook and took that but since FP+ came into play and being all digitally, I'd like to keep all in one place on the phone.

What about using (let's say if u have an apple phone) notes? I always copy my adr confirmation into my notes.

Do you have a Notes app on your phone? You could just make a different "Note" for each day with all the info you want in it.

Does the note function in the MDE app not do what you're looking for? I've added notes to mark which park we'll be in on each day and to add reservations other than dining (Pirates League, for example).

My H wants to "go with the flow" this time too. He agreed/knows we need one ADR a day and is okay with 3 or 4 FP's, since we won't be penalized if we miss one. I'm looking forward to just strolling with him, stopping for a drink here or there and just enjoying the environment. At least, I'm hoping I'll feel that way, since I'm usually a more go go go girl.

We decided to make the day we were going to go to AK our "go with the flow" day. We usually never do that but we aren't big on AK as it is and especially with a 7 month old who can't really do much. We are going to go to dinner at OKW, look around SSR, visit Disney Springs and maybe get some beignets at POFQ. If we didn't buy APs I wouldn't do it but it might be nice with the baby to just relax for a day.

I really feel sorry for those of us with trips in the next few weeks/month. But I REALLY feel sorry for those like the poster above who don't know it's been postponed yet. Hope he doesn't have a trip coming up soon...that would be a really big downer to get there and not know....

I must be really stupid - don't see a way to notes in MDE? I can click on attractions and put in a reminder but that's it?

Just a heads up - Maybe a glitch but with the new fastpass system I am able to make fastpasses for a day not on our reservation that is more than 30 days out. Let me explain.....We are headed down to Florida a few days before we go to WDW. We are going to go to Universal for our first few days but plan to eat at 'Ohana on the very first day down in Orlando. I was going to book a few fastpasses for MK in case we get there a little earlier than expected so we can get our taste of Disney before we head over to Universal. We are NOT staying on Disney property for those first few days and it's not within my 30 days so I was waiting until 30 days out to book them. However, just playing around today I was able to book 3 FPs for all of us for that day. (We are AP holders so maybe that changed it?)

When the app first opens up, you should see the "My Plans" screen. At the bottom (without scrolling), there should be a blue circle with a plus sign in it (if you don't see it, scroll down and then scroll back up and it should appear). Tap the circle and five smaller circles will pop out around it (L to R: FastPass+, Tickets, Dining, Add Plans, and Shopping). Tap the second from the right - it's a little magic hat symbol - and you'll be taken to a screen that allows you to add Parades, Fireworks, Shows, or Notes to your plan. The Notes function allows you to enter a description, details, date, location, and time.

ETA: It is definitely not intuitive, so don't feel bad for not finding it! I only found it by tapping randomly to see what would happen.

Ya know, in all the trips I've done, I never knew about this feature in MDE...really works cool whether you use website or phone app. I like the phone app better as it puts your note in at the time it happens, where on the website, the notes are all on the bottom of the page.

We were given the boot to the TP Community page because there is dead silence from the Mouse so our discussion is not official planning ....... just dreaming.

Mouse says another announcement coming mid May - could be an opening date or could be check back later ...... no breath holding.

I like that about the app versus the website, too. What used to annoy me about the app, though, is that the time on the note would always end up saving one hour later than what I entered - so I would have to enter things with a time one hour earlier than I want them to appear so that they would save with the correct time (for example, DD's Pirate's League app't is at 11:45am, so I entered it as 10:45am and it saved as 11:45am). It seems like they've corrected this in one of the recent app updates, though. I just tested a note for 5:00pm today and it saved with 5:00 as the time.

Hey y'all - have any of you been to Disneyland and can point me to a good place to do planning? My cousin is planning a trip for her family for July 4 and has no plan yet. Yikes! Trying to find a place to help her out. I told her it would be super crowded then and now she is freaking. Looks like you can't make dining reservation until 2 months out and they use the paper FP still. Been searching the different websites I know but figured there are some I don't know about. Thanks in advance.

We use RideMax for all of our Disneyland trips. Even though we go a lot, it's still really helpful. Along with the plans, they have lots of 'tips & tricks".
