Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Coming out of lurkdom. We will be in AK on May 4th- have been not so patiently waiting for the release of Dining packages or FP+ for ROL. Its taking forever. Also waiting to hear if DHS SW fireworks are being extended for early May, it Tiffins will be open, and if the EP DVC lounge will be open. Sigh

We lost part of our roof last night in this wind! Had to unload half of the stuff that was in our attic in the midst of it because it was raining at the time and soaking everything. Now if only the wind would STOP so we can get the roof water-tight. It's going to start raining tomorrow morning.

The good part of the roof coming off...Waiting for ROL seemed insignificant compared to losing our roof and being awake almost all night. I didn't care about ROL at that point.

Wow! Sorry to hear about the roof but glad you are all ok!

I wonder if anyone has gotten an A&E FP for June? The rumor is that they will move that meet and greet to EPCOT and there are still rumors of it opening May 27th. Other posters think there is too much construction going on to open by then. Just curious if anyone has gotten June FP yet for the old MK M&G for A&E?

I've read several sources and received notices from planning sites that they are not available after May 26. So it seems legit that the end of May at Epcot is the "plan". Who knows if that's what happens, though.

sorry so many of you are getting nasty winter weather. Here in Minnesota, it's supposed to be in the upper 50s today...heat wave - we'll be grilling dinner. It's been a very strange winter here with little snow, and only a handful of really cold (below 0 F) snaps. I guess we were due for an easy winter after the last few we've had.

Still I can truly sympathize with the feeling of yet another springtime blizzard,....been there, done that, and somehow managed to not do myself, or anyone else, in! Hang in there, ROL friends! Mickey's house will be great!!

I'm in Minnesota too. I was so sure that we were going to get a big March snowstorm to make up for the lack of snow this year, but I'm glad to say I was wrong! April, however, is just beginning and I'm still not convinced that we're done with snow for the year!

The rumor I had heard was the next phase for Pixar would be where Star Wars Launch Bay (the old Art of Animation bldg) is now. If you look on Google maps, there is a lot of space there, especially if they could relocate the service buildings back there as well. To me, the ideal would be to do that and then somehow tie them with a walkway into the RNR area so that wasn't such a dead end.

That's where phase 4 is supposed to go.

Ugh! That stinks! I'm sorry that happened. I hope you're able to get it repaired quickly. My husband said he saw lots of down trees and limbs while driving around this morning, but nothing like what you're experiencing even though we supposedly had wind gusts of close to 70 mph.

It's a good thing my sister and I snagged FPs for A&E in April! I've never been in Princess Fairytale Hall so I'm glad I'm squeaking in to see the sisters before they move!

We have a trip planned for 5/31 and 6/1 and FEA and Anna and Elsa M&G are not available for those dates currently. Part of the reason for going, so I really hope they become available. I'm sensing a repeat of this RoL chaos... hahaha

I hear you...the last time I went to WDW in April (2013), with the same group I'm going with this time, there was 16" of snow back home while I was gone... I sympathized with hubby and all the folks at home, but, not for too long, as there were things to do and attractions to ride....of course, then the vacation ended, and I had to return. Bummer.

Right now, the dibb is reporting no A&E FP+ past May 20.

If they are planning on moving A&E, any word on who might be replacing them at PFH?

Right now, the dibb is reporting no A&E FP+ past May 20.

We were able to snag FP for A&E on May 22, but I wasn't able to get it on any of our other MK days for the next two weeks going into June. Hoping they get to Epcot while we are there and we can meet them in both places. That would be awesome!

We're having the same crazy winds here as well. It was so bad during the night that we decided to sleep in the basement family room just to be safe. We lost power at 1:30 a.m. and it got quite frigid in the house with the wind just pounding the front of the house all night. We had our house wired and set up for a generator about 11 years ago but never actually bought a generator (kept thinking we wouldn't ever need it.). Because of that dragging of the feet, we had no power for 5 days after Hurricane Sandy (which I know was a brief outage compared to what some people endured). That still didn't push DH to buy the generator. But today when he woke up and discovered the house was 50 degrees and knowing that the temps will be dropping tonight, he spent about 3 seconds contemplating whether or not now was the time to get a generator. He threw on some clothing and drove to Lowes. Less than an hour after he left he was back and had everything hooked up. At least we have heat, water, some lights, tv, and internet. The power company can't even give us an estimated time for when power will be restored. Ugh.

I'm so sorry to hear that, good luck and I hope it's nothing like Sandy as we were 7 days. 7 was good for my neck of the woods, some people about 2 miles down the road on the really back roads were 2 weeks without power.
