Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

When I can slip on to the DIS and see that this thread is only going up a page every now and then and not 20+ pages....it's a sure sign that people are giving up and or getting discouraged :(

Random question:
What is your favorite park and no fair saying some parks are tied or you like each one for different reasons...I know how tough it can be for some people (I am one of those people) but just for today, there will be no hurt feelings ;) and just say your favorite park, even if it's your favorite by only a hair!

EPCOT for me!

You know I can't just give a simple answer...
Magic Kingdom for the good morning show and some rope drop rides, EPCOT for lunch and a leisurely stroll through the world showcase, then the evening at Animal Kingdom....:P:P:P:P:P:P:P

Thanks for keeping us in the know! :goodvibes

This new guest experience sounds very cool, but it's spendy. That's a lot more than the Wanyama, unless it's increased quite a bit lately. I love the part that says "Animal encounters are voluntary for each animal." :D

Agree--- very pricey, but it does sound cool ! Very appealing ---just trying to see where I can fit this into our plans -
So far, I am planning FP for "ROL" ( if ever released) --- FP for "EE" -- and will probably use the last one for the new M & G at Animal Kingdom

Still no baby. I went for a 5 mile walk this morning because my doctor recommended long walks, but all I got for that was swollen feet.

I know my friend is putting in crazy long hours working on RoL. I'd love to ask her how it's going but her last few Facebook statuses have been about wine and frozen pizza at 2am and other things that indicate she might be a little stressed!
Sending pixie dust and a big hug. Try and get a nap, you deserve it.

Well, you know what one of the common methods to bring on labor is..... the same activity that got you that way in the first place :P

Magic Kingdom....much like my father, I'm a big kid at heart and nothing appeals to the kid in me like the Magic Kingdom rides. Splash Mountain and Haunted Manson(among others) still put the same smile on my face that they did when I was a kid.

But that's the same reason Fantasmic is by and far my favorite show! I love seeing all the movies I grew up with as a kid come to life.

Ok - so on a whim last nite, I decided to send the email to that George person that someone posted yesterday. This is what I sent:

It is becoming increasingly frustrating that we are unable to plan our trip in May at Animal Kingdom. You all announced that the opening would be April 22 and yet you have not released park hours, fast passes, or dining packages to accommodate the guests. You want us to plan 180 days in advance to eat, 60 days in advance to ride with the popular rides and yet you cannot release the May schedule for an attraction you are Opening 4/22? We have been told repeatedly by cast members to check the blog but we don't see anything on the blog. Could you please give us information so that we can make plans? My contact information is ***. I would love some information as soon as possible. Thank you.

So today, I get an email and a voice mail back. The voice mail said they want to talk to me to give feedback to the executive committee. Here is the email:

Thank you for contacting George Kalogridis regarding the Walt Disney World Resort.

I am very sorry for the challenges you have experienced while planning your upcoming visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Your feedback is very important to us, and we truly appreciate that you took the time to send us your comments. It is through feedback, like yours, that we learn what we must do to ensure the Disney magic is preserved for everyone.

I would like the opportunity to discuss your comments. Unfortunately, I have been unable to reach you at the telephone number provided. I am available Monday through Thursday between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. EST and Sunday between 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. EST at 407-934-7285. You may also provide me with your telephone number and the best time to call as a reply to this message. I am happy to contact you.

Once again, thank you for your honest and constructive feedback. I look forward to speaking with you at your earliest convenience.

Kindest regards,

Austin McGregor

@dachsie that "George person" is the president of the Walt Disney World Company and I highly doubt he will ever see your email, they are pretty much screened way before it reaches him. You should call the guest relations person and see what he says.

I would hold off making plans to do anything in WS prior to 11:00 until it is actually open prior to 11:00.
Yes, it does make the most sense to open both Mexico and Norway at 9:00, leaving the rest of WS till France closed off.
But as we are all learning in regards to RoL they don't always do what makes the most sense.
They will be opening the Norway portion at 9 am when those attractions are operational.
