Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

If this is true then they just need to open FP+ for it and be done with it.
It opens in like 4 weeks

Fast pass is gone for wishes and illuminations right? I assume there will be no fast pass for this show. It looks like people are just gonna have to go and wait in line with everyone else and hopefully get in

I'm about this close to just saying screw it with the whole ROL thing. Preview packages are like a mythical creature at this point and I think I'd prefer dinner at Ohana anyways. After all this waiting we're gonna need the Lapu Lapus.

I couldn't agree more! Way to many sleepless nights trying to add this to our plans. I am becoming less and less excited for this trip the closer it gets. I thought I was doing everything 'right' by looking at crowd calendars, checking the best weather times, etc. when planning our vacation. It just seems like every day things are changing that affect all of the planning we put into it. I wouldn't care at all if the option was there to easily change a park day, FP+, ADR's or if we had been to WDW multiple times and we're coming back. Unfortunately, this is it for us. I know the trip will be amazing, but I'm just so frustrated right now.

Was pretty sure the blog or the article said that there would be fast pass+
But I guess things are changing by the day.
They haven't taken away fast pass for Fantasmic yet

Hopefully there is no flaming here...we're just not that kind of thread....

I also have an early BOG, and I have to say that I made it to be able to MAYBE be in line for 7DMT before the RD crowd gets there, but from what I have heard, there is not that big of an advantage as the CMs keep you back quite a distance. I don't know for sure, as I've never done it before. But the four of us will be using 4 dining credits, so I don't feel like I'm working the system...just was lucky enough to get that early reservation.

We looked at it more like @elmoandzoey said - a way to get a nice breakfast without cutting into park time and I wanted the kids to see the castle. We had gone for dinner the year before to celebrate our anniversary, but without the kids! We did breakfast last April on the DDP - and we definitely wanted a jump on rope drop - meaning to be up in Fantasyland, but we didn't expect anything in terms of things being open before park opening (we had a FP for 7DMT for later). We got to ride 7DMT 1x - as we got off the rope drop crowd was in line. But that sucked up a lot of people, so we could go to PP and such. Again, the best part for us was the walk down Main Street!

I can see the appeal for this Morning Hootenanny, but it just seems like not quite "enough" for the money for me. Maybe if it was one more ride, or another half an hour of protected time, or the buffet was in the Beast's Castle (no offense, Pinocchio Village Haus!). Not sure, it would definitely need to be very limited! Plus another drawback for me would be that you'd be using park time for the buffet - it might throw off one's timing...you could be heading to other lands at that point and be ahead of the Fantasyland people...or at least when we've done rope drop (or EMH), that's what we've done - we're not eating at 9am. But that's just us, and I'm rambling!!

Not to jump to conclusions, but I do hope it's not the end of early morning EMH - I've read a lot of opinions both ways, but who knows...

Don't have to worry about it being ready.

Both filmed yesterday.

And there is this:

Just because they are testing floats doesn't equal the show itself being ready. It's the only explanation at this point.

This stresses me out. No way I want to spend 2-3 hours in line trying to get in to see this show. With four young kids that just isn't going to happen. I'm so frustrated with this whole thing.

Yeah. Honestly, no way I'm doing this without a preview ticket (looking less and less likely), an ADR, or a FP. Certainly not anytime soon after its opening. Not worth it to me. That said, we are frequent visitors so would just wait to do it on a later trip when an ADR is available (if there was no FP). But there was a response to a comment on the blog that said this would have FP. Guess WHO KNOWS?!?

It definitely said that there would be FP - it just didn't say at what point they would be available! And yes, things do seem to be changing by the day - very hard to keep up :(

I don't know what to do...I was really hoping for a preview party. Maybe so many people will be either mad or scared off on 4/22 that we'll have the park to ourselves!

This doesn't upset me as much as the evening event. I think because you still need to be a ticket holder. And if you figure there's breakfast in the price it is more reasonable. Still not reasonable but more reasonable. If they're going to open Peter Pan & serve breakfast at PVH, I think they should open Small World too. I know it's not as popular as the other three but it just seems logical since PVH is in the building and looks over the ride.

Delayed reaction but just catching up - I agree with your thoughts! Especially about Small World! It really fits in with the target audience too - families with young children. And I agree with the morning vs night event part - the night event is affecting one of my MK days with the overlap time. In this case, it may not affect ticket holders with rope drop MK plans - one could argue it may help them since those early morning people would be done with those rides, although maybe not, could congest things. Ah, speculation - just wish I knew if there were dates on my trip so that I could adjust my plans accordingly!

I really hope we hear something by this weekend. I leave in 17 days and just can not continue having my plans for the end of my trip up in the air! I'm really starting to think as well that ROL is going to be delayed; I can't see any reason why they haven't at least extended AK hours for the 22nd if the show is really going to open that day. It's sad but at this point, I almost wish they would just announce it is being delayed so I wouldn't have to worry about it for my trip anymore!

It's not likely we will hear over Easter weekend though, is it?
but then, maybe we will...maybe they think that people are less likely to be obsessively calling/refreshing and that they could quietly open up online reservations without being overwhelmed... Nah...too logical. THey will announce that it opens on XYZ day, and the system will crash forcing people to call and be on hold for hours. It's a tried and true procedure...

They have already said that there is FP for this. RoL is like F!, not Wishes and Illuminations (and parades). F! still has FP. There is no reason to jump to the conclusion that there won't be FP for RoL at this time.

Just because they are testing floats doesn't equal the show itself being ready. It's the only explanation at this point.
No it is not. It's a far jump to assume the reason they haven't announced the dining packages or FP that it's not ready. As long as they leave the dates out there of 4/22 you can assume it will open on 4/22. The day they take that away is the day to assume it's not ready.

I have a prepark for CP not so much for the dash to rides but for a meal time that isn't during park hours.
Same here. I don't book 8 AM ADR to ride stuff. Hell, the way park hours change it is really rather dumb to book an ADR just to get in a ride. Your chances of not ending up with a preopen ADR is rather high.

I book them to eat, strange as that concept is

Probably.

I mean I figured it wasn't likely but at this point I wouldn't be surprised if we're all off looking for Easter eggs/baskets (yes I am 25 and my parents still hide my Easter basket LOL) and they drop a blog post right then.
I wouldn't count anything out at this point. We leave Sat morning on our first DCL cruise (first cruise altogether for 3 out of 4 of us!). So with my limited connectivity over the next week, GUARANTEED it gets released next week!! :thumbsup2 ::yes::

Oh, and please cross your fingers for me that I will be able to register for W&D half from the island of Tortola... ... Disney timing has not been kind to me recently! ;)

You were quiet yesterday so we were wondering if you had gone into labor. When is your due date?

It's changed a few times but I'm basically due sometime this weekend.

Yesterday I took DS to DHS to see Lights Motors Action one last time before it goes away - it's his favorite show :( We got a backstage tour where DS got to sit in the red car, we got to see where they call the show from, we were allowed to walk around the set, it was awesome. But the guys all kept looking at my stomach like they were terrified I was going to go into labor any minute!
