Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Long time lurker, first time poster here! Just wanted to officially join the discussion. We'll be in AK on 4/22 - and my birthday is 4/23! I'm really grateful for all of the information in this thread the past couple of weeks. It's so great to get the latest details through a group of people that love Disney planning as much as I do! Granted, we're all feeling pretty frustrated (and exhausted) right now...(sigh)

Since most are waiting patiently and some are losing their minds (I won't divulge which category I'm in :badpc:), I have a question about the potential dining packages based on the F! experience

Does where you dine matter in terms of where you are seated? For instance, if I'm dining at H&V, will I be seated separately from those from the HBD for F!? Or is it one big fastpass section?

The reason I ask, is I wonder if there is any particular value in getting a Tusker House reservation over a Flame Tree BBQ reservation in terms of seating location for ROL.

I know it's all speculative at this point, I was just looking for comparable scenarios.

I'll just throw that out there, while we wait. :hourglass

For F!, doesn't matter where you eat. You get a voucher after your meal, present it at the entrance to F! and choose your seat from anywhere in the reserved area.

No telling if this will work the same though?

I'm in the I've officially lost my mind group. I'm really hoping not but plan on trying to snag Tiffins Just in case. I must have lost my mind no DDP and no menu yet. Lucky my men aren't picky eaters.

Nothing is known for sure, but if we assume it works the same as the F! Package: Dining will be together and FP+ will be in a different area.

Disneyland also has a show with a TS and QS dining plan option, and the quick service restaurant package seating is not seated in the same place as the table service seating.

However, nothing is known for sure at all about this. Pure speculation and assumption.

For F! at DHS it doesn't matter. However, if you look over to Disneyland, if you get a table service dining package for F!, you will be seated in a different area as if you got the quick service Aladdin Oasis package. The different dining packages offered for World of Color also have different viewing areas. So it may very well be that a different dining package may give you a different viewing area, especially since there is a QS package included.

That's good to know. So there is a precedent for offering "tiered" seating but it's not currently being used for F!.

Thanks! Like I said, just a question, everything is speculative at this point.

Now back to waiting. :bored:

My best guess/gut tells me they are going to do what they do in DL for F!
But it's a pure guess on my part.
Otherwise, most people would go for the QS option.
You'd think Disney would offer something that pushes the folks to the more expensive meal. Better seats does that

Since F! doesn't have a QS option, it might be different for ROL...who knows...nothing will surprise me anymore....

Right. But there is also no QS option for a F! package so it's sort of an apples to oranges comparison right now

Just called and told the CM I was asking the question of the day. We laughed but not yet. She said its there then it's not then it's there etc. I told her some people are about a month away and their plans are up on the air with the waiting - but it was a pleasant conversation. (Really feeling the lack of sleep today). I'll need a vacation before my Disney trip just to recover from the planning.

Anyone recall the reported cost per adult and child for TH verse FTB? I know it's been posted (but of course not "official" just yknow.. written on the cast member hub... :p ) but I've forgotten.

Since there's nothing else to report right now, here's tiny tidbit...neither the travel agent calendar nor the Dis website park hours calendar have been updated yet for later hours, at least for my dates. not that that matters one bit, but thought I'd throw it out there.

5 am for some of us poor saps. Where are the even more unfortunate West coasters? You guys with us?

This west coaster just got up. I'm still horribly sick, so no alarm was set. Glad I haven't missed anything. Crossing fingers it pops up during the day.

Fantasmic doesn't have any QS dining packages, but it sounds like this one might. At DL, for their dining packages, the QS option gives you the same section as the fastpass people, where's the TS packages have premium viewing spot.
