Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

JMO-I think they will handle the preview packages just like special Food and Wine events. It's usually in the spiel that the read to you before before booking that this is a pre-paid, non-refundable reservation.

Yup. I've learned to book carefully.
I can't decide if they are going to book it like Club Villain or Harambe Nights or like a Food and Wine pairing at Epcot. I can see either one

My advice, have a paper, pen and take your time when booking. If for some reason they don't mention about possible refunds, ask the CM. It's perfectly fine for you to make sure you know any restrictions with booking. This will be new for them, too (if/when) it opens. :goodvibes

And I need to take a good look at my itinerary this afternoon too. I impulsively purchased tickets for the SW dessert party when it was extended into April, so I can't even remember where that ended up, I have ADRs all over the place, babysitting, etc., I need to regroup, lol! I thought this would be set one way or another by now, but I need to get it together!

Like I mentioned, I haven't done a lot of special events - can you explain some of the differences in terms of booking and such? Club Villain seems almost like a character meal? but other than that, not sure of the differences...

Me too! Disney is supposed to be my break from real life. Planning this April trip is a bit too complicated, thank heaven for this thread.
Now I'm off to really look at our plans and make sure I haven't over scheduled us. Disney...so many potential options, so little time.

Your ticket is the reservation for AMC Dine In Theater. You buy Tickets for a Movie that is part of Dine In. It is reserved seating, so that is your reservation. You can only buy tickets for AMC Dine In Theater through AMC's website, Fandango or In person at the Theater because Movie Schedules aren't usually set until the Wednesday of the week starting Wednesday. For Example If you want to see a film for the week of April 15th-21st, you aren't able to buy a ticket until April 13th. They put them on the Dining page to promote it to get more people there. Does this help you understand AMC Dine In Theater better?

It does, and thanks! We're wanting to see Jungle Book in the Dine In Theater on one of our "off parks" days, and I have Fandango and AMC's app, just couldn't see how you could reserve the "dining part". Thought we'd make this a nice dining thing-to-do on a rest day from the parks (if I can stand NOT going to a park, lol). Thanks for explaining! :)

I don't know if this has been asked or not, if you already have reservations for say tusker house how will that work, have to have a different one for ROL?

I believe so. Fantasmic packages work this way - those with Hollywood & Vine dinner reservations are different than the Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic! package reservations. So when they're released you'd need to find the ADR for the restaurant w/ the package, not just the restaurant.

Yes. If it works like every other such situation, it will be a separate booking. You'd need a new one for the RoL package. From my earlier post about this....

My experience with these things is that you'd have to be out there competing with the rest of us (!!) for a new package ADR, which could then just overwrite your existing ADR (the system will prompt you to OK replacing the old ADR with the new package if you try for the same time -- no need to cancel the original ADR before trying for the package).

There hasn't been such a thing as just "adding" a package to a regular ADR, to my knowledge over the years.

Still - no harm in having a placeholder for your day anyway, and as I've been saying WHO KNOWS if they might do something differently this time... with ANY of this! :)

It is really quite different from a character meal but I can see how it's confusing.
Club Villain would be more like the Dessert Parties than a meal. You get small plates of desserts and food (think Tapas) and you have unlimted alcohol and non-alcohol drinks
The special Food and Wine events are non-refundable I assume because they plan these based on the people who made reservations. They are not normal meals and often have special chefs or brewers/vineyard owners on hand to talk about the products.

Something else you do when buying tickets for the Dine in Theater you actually pick your seat when you buy your tickets. Hint, do not sit in the first 2 rows :)

Okay, so maybe a little like the pirate ferry fireworks thing we did last year, with all the desserts then you meet Captain Hook and such. thanks! What was Harambe Nights? - just curious!

We won't! We've picked seats in Nashville at their theater in Opry Mills, so wondered if this might be similar, but with food options. We'll have to buy tickets early for best seats then. Thanks!

After the news last night that the ROL had been postponed indefinitely I went in and finalized my plans. I had both Epcot and AK booked so they could be switched. I finalized my fps for both. Luckily I was able to pick up ADRs for breakfast at Epcot on 2 days and TH dinner for 2 days. Package or not we plan to eat dinner at TH and breakfast at TGG as we have never eaten at either. We plan to walk around Epcot trying the outdoor kitchens but breakfast at TGG. With my fps for AK, they will all be changed as the later hours are a game changer. I was booking everything with a 5 pm closing time. Drat! I had the perfect day planned!

Beem lurking on this thread for a while, but did I miss something - ROL postponed indefinitely?
