Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Yes, that. However, when I made my fp selections on March 5th, BTMRR was an option I didn't expect. I took it, then looked up the refurb calendar and it was pushed to August. I figured since so many attractions were kaput for May, they decided to throw it back in the mix. (They cancelled SWW, FEA is running behind, Soarin closed, Tiffins not open, etc) April/May was getting dumped on pretty hard.
Thanks for posting this... jogged my memory that I had WANTED to book BTMRR FP+ and it was NOT there when my dates opened. I just went back in and switched one to BTMRR. :)

Ah, you could be right. Would still be curious to see if there are any other rumors out there regarding RoL.

But I do think these dates that folks are citing have never come from Disney. I am fairly certain they have never said anywhere officially and in writing that Frozen was opening May 1 (or June 1) or any specific date at all. All they gave is Summer. Which is a 3 month span, technically not beginning until June.
And the same for Soarin'. I believe their official date has been Summer. Not a specific date, at least not that I've seen in writing from Disney. A website like Touring Plans doesn't count in my book as officially given by Disney. Even if they get it from an insider it is still not official, not in my definition anyway.
Disney has not announced a date for frozen. The rumor is May 27th because that showed up on the HUB. Originally they said spring 2016 but actually moved that back and have recently said summer 2016.

Just following up on this to see if your DH's tickets have been rescinded or if he was told the preview event was postponed and his tickets were no longer valid? I believe you previously posted the date for his tickets was 4/15. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

His tickets haven't been rescinded, they're still in his inbox and yes, they were for the preview on 4/15. I'll definitely let you guys know if that changes.

Having said that, I text my other friend (the one working in production on RoL) this morning to ask how the show was coming and she text back a picture of herself with three cups of coffee and a stress ball. So it would seem they're still very busy over there!

I was just wondering if there were any announced changes on the 4/15 preview. Thank you for posting! I am hoping that they will be able to work out show issues and we'll hear something about a 4/16 preview soon. :sunny:

Appreciate your update.

I can only imagine what it's like to get the show off the ground.
Even if things were running smoothly and on schedule it's stressful going in to those last few weeks.

I'm still holding on to the thought that Disney would have known on March 2nd if it was going to make 4/22 or not. I just can't see them announcing that date if they weren't really sure about it. I realize unexpected things happen but you'd think that 4/22 gave them a cushion too.

I haven't outright asked my friend if the opening date of 4/22 has been postponed because I don't know how much she can tell me, and I don't want to put her in an awkward position. I would assume things would have to be really behind to push back from 4/22 though, since they've made such a big deal of it.

Thanks for responding so quickly @KateP85! I'm just trying to determine if this "postponed" issue was for the booking of the preview event or actual event itself; two very different things. I'm encouraged that it would seem that the 4/15 event is still "on" based on the fact that your DH hasn't been informed otherwise. I'm discouraged since now I'll have to continue to monitor this to see if by chance they open it up to the public to book. Thanks again!

I always used this picture on the SWW thread when we were all waiting for packages and character dining to open, this thread reminds me very much of that one...

... CM said her understanding is that Tusker House is the only restaurant available for the package. She was able to view quite a bit of information in her system and found that booking times for dinner will be 4-7pm and the reserved seating will be for the first show only (but she didn't know what time the first show started). She stated pricing for the dinner package is $44/adult and $26/child.

FWIW - She also told me that having an ADR to Tusker House doesn't help at all when calling back to try and switch to a dining package.

So...I will call back tomorrow and hope to book a reservation!
Did you ask specifically about dinner? This may not completely eliminate the possibility of a breakfast/lunch option.

Am I crazy for saying I love this?!

Probably.

It's just fun to be able to possibly be there for one of the first nights of a new show. Even if it cost me a few hours of sleep and a lot of my sanity. And I've only been following along since last week. ;)

I have to be up at the crack of dawn anyway. I might as well be checking online:surfweb: and then at 7 be ready to call.

Yup. You're totally crazy. Good news is that you're in the right company... ... :thumbsup2:laughing:

We also wanted breakfast at TH for the package. However, seeing how much they charge for the dining package compared to what regular TH dinner buffet costs, I am still surprised. The upfree is pretty little for the package. I am not really complaining if we have to do dinner instead of breakfast at TH. I am just glad to see that the upcharge for the package is little.
We aren't interested in lunch or dinner, so we will stick with breakfast and hope they extend the options by June...but if not, I'll plan on a FP for it.
