Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

:badpc:
Wow. Thank you! Who knows if they will be, but any and all tips appreciated! :cool1:

It would also be nice to know what dates can be reserved for dining or FP...arriving on 4/23, and if they aren't even doing the dining until May 1, if would be really nice to know about FP availability for our dates. If nothing, then, I'll plan accordingly....like everyone else:

I CAN'T DO A DANG THING MORE WITH MY PLANNING UNTIL I HAVE MORE INFO...

Josh at easywdw mentioned the preview event on his blog last week. No sale dates were given but the event dates were the same as previously posted.
But he might have gotten it off The Dibb where I think we did!! ;)

That said, preview events seem to make sense... why not collect a bunch of $$ while testing out your show for opening on 4/22?? Disney no-brainer!! :)

Just got off the phone with Disney Dining. She confirmed tomorrow for preview packages. She also said "Information about the previews was sent out to certain guests. There is a lot of interest."
I asked her if it would be good if I was online at 6am and she said "Yes".

And I would gladly fork over some $ to be one their guinea pigs - if they would only give me the opportunity!

I asked the CM which day the ROL dining packages will begin. In other words, will the dining packages start on April 22nd when the show starts. I also asked to confirm the dates on the preview events. She was corresponding with her supervisors electronically, we waited for about 7 minutes and she wasn't getting a response. She then put me on hold so she could go talk to someone. About 4 minutes later she came back on the line. She apologized and said unfortunately she couldn't find an answer for me on those two points. She said she was either not getting any responses or folks did not know the answers. Again she apologized. What a super nice CM. It's not her fault.

Thanks for asking...they can only do what they have been told to do, and chances are they don't have all the information either! Ugh.

I just called Disney Dining asked about the preview packages and the CM said he just talked to his supervisor and he was told they would be open to book tomorrow starting 6am online and 7 call in.
Sorry I haven't gone through the whole thread so this has probably already been answered... but a preview package? I knew it was set to debut apr 22. We will be doing a short flower and garden trip, the 9th thru 12th, so i assumed we'd miss. We do have APs, any details on previews?

I just spoke to CM Mark. He said tomorrow was the release for 4/15 and 4/16 special events. He did highly recommend to check for the regular dining to be released then too. He also was emailing with his supervisor, but could not get a confirmation of when the dining plans will be released. He did emphasize that a regular Tusker House reservation would not be the same as a Rivers Of Light package; similar to Hollywood and Dine is not the same reservation as Hollywood and Vine with Fantasmic. He said to make sure to call and have my reservations switched to the Rivers of Light dining package.

We'll be there 4/16-4/19. Super short trip. I have no idea if I should plan to have an "open" schedule for a few nights to see if there are any soft openings of ROL. I would love to see it.

I wonder if 4/15 and 4/16 will be the only two preview days. (Assuming the information is accurate.) Thanks for posting this!:flower1:

Same here! That is the GENIUS of Disney!! :)

I know! Speaking of small rodents, I've been feeling like a bit of a lab rat today. Disney be like, "We have this system in which every moment of vacation must be planned, planned, planned, very far in advance. Now let's dangle the Magical Carrot of Uncertainty in front of them. See how shiny and magical it is? How will they react? Let's set a date for them to get the carrot. Now let's push the date off. How will they react?" Someone is taking notes on their scientific observations...

I also just spoke with a CM who said the ROL preview parties would be available to book tomorrow, but she said the dining packages would not be available until later and she had no information on when that would be.

I'm glad we had to push our vacation back two weeks lol, at least it gives me a little bit more wiggle room in planning. Between ROL, Frozen, and the new Star Wars Fireworks, plus Olaf M&G, and other new items, this is insane. We've never planned a trip around new events, or I guess because this is only our second trip with kids that we never cared that much before to try and plan it. I feel like they must be having some technical difficulties or something to just keep everyone in the dark and presumably keep pushing the date back. Then again, it may just be typical Disney.

3 showings a night? Are they serious? Now I even have to figure out which showing I want to use the dining package on? I thought this was going to be a one show per night thing so a no brainer of when to go but this... o_O oh decisions decisions.
