Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

DH and I were talking about the awful reviews last night and ROL and he goes "you know, you never actually call it RIVERS of Light, you only call it RUMORS of Light".. I guess I do! lol WOOPS!

I have to admit, I am not surprised or anything but the shotty reviews. They threw this together so quickly how could it be GREAT really? It's a placeholder. If I was going to see it, that's how I would view it.

I do have to wonder what the Shamans and related actors are doing in the interim.. just hanging out? Do they stay on in case ROL comes "to light"? I am just confused by the whole thing.

Has anyone heard if the dining packages are included in the Tables in Wonderland discount?

I don't think it will be included because Fantasmic is not included.

I would assume they do not want to put Jungle Book on a billboard in case they figure out the ROL issue. They could switch to ROL and that billboard could still apply.

My point is why a THIRD theme when Nighttime Awakenings describes all that is happening much better. Why are we making a big deal (and spending more money) about a "temporary" show and it's name?

As a person that performs in theatre, I'll withhold judgement till I see JB in person. I don't want to assign fault to an actor when the director gave limiting instructions, or to a director when the producer limited creativity/thematic concept. etc etc…. I'll post here after next week.

I haven't seen anywhere that anyone has found fault with the performers, it would all be on the directing/producing.

I think someone previously posted here that there was an upcharge on the TH JB packages over regular TH. $7 for adults comes to mind.

If true, for my party of 8, the extra cost does add up. Going to keep the ADR for mow though and see how things play out.

I would love to wrong about the upcharge. If I am, please let me know!

That's the first I 've heard of it, though I admit that I booked the package from the laundry room of a hotel. (Long story) It's entirely possible that I missed that detail.

All these packages are marked up for your "special seating" just like Fantasmic, CandleLight Processional. Looks like TH is about $7 on breakfast, $9 on lunch and $4 on dinner from menu/prices posted.

Well in your defense at this point in time the show is only a RUMOR. Since rumblings are everything from opening in September to December to indefinitely - it falls more in the rumor category.

A poster on another thread who claims to have first hand knowledge says they have all gone to take other "interim" jobs .... sounds like they are not at Disney at moment. Another bad sign since CM posted that all FEA employees (who can easily be moved elsewhere) have been sitting around for months doing NOTHING. Yet they don't want to pay and hold on to RoL actors.
