Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

I believe for the fist avilable date to book. So no dinner packages to be offer from the 22-30. Per rumor you should be able to book packages for May 1st on tomorrow when they open booking for special events.

Will ROL be running during that time, the 22-30th of April? And will there be FP+s even though there will be no dining packages for those dates? I'm in AK on the 23rd.

Disney has formally announced the first date for ROL is 4/22.
Beyond that, no ones knows a thing.
No idea if there will be FP
No idea what date will be the first date to book a dining package.
No idea if there will be stand by room
Lots of guesses though

Here's the Dibb info that was posted before and the thread link

Below is a summary of the current info about the Rivers of Light preview events (not the dining ADRs). The info may change when Disney release the actual details tomorrow.

Premium Preview Event - 15th April. Ticket price $99(+tax). Includes unlimited food and alcoholic drinks, entry from 7pm, park closed to non-ticket holders. Get to see RoL before anyone else.

Preview Event - 16th April. Ticket price $49(+tax). Includes a dessert and soft drink, event starts at 7pm. Get to see RoL before the official opening date.

Preview Event - 17th April. Ticket price $49(+tax). Includes a dessert and soft drink, event starts at 7:30pm. Get to see RoL before the official opening date.

Tickets to all 3 events listed above go on general sale from 3pm (UK time) on 8th March. Reservations can be made online or by phone. These preview events will be listed under "Events" on Disney's website.

Rivers of Light officially opens on 22nd April. From this date, anyone with valid admission to AK will be able to see the RoL show without paying extra.

Thank you!! I was looking over there and couldn't find it. :)

I wonder if they put up ADR's after the meeting or if it will be open tomorrow morning at 6 am....any ideas?

Could see it going a few different ways... they soft launch it tomorrow morning at 6am, launch during the meeting, or at a set time later on.

Risk is, if you do it at 6am tomorrow, you may not have too many ADRs left available when you do the official launch. But you save the servers from getting crushed when the program does launch.

For dining packages - are they generally the same number of table service credits as eating at the restaurant without the dining package. So for example at Hollywood Studios -- eating at Brown Derby is 2 TS credits, but Hollywood and Vine is 1 TS credit. Is Hollywood and Vine also 1 TS credit for the Fantasmic dining package?

::yes::

You never know, especially given all the price increases lately, but I would be surprised if they made these packages 2 TS credits across the board.

So likely FP+ from the 4/22nd-30th? I'm getting confused with all the dates. Guess we will wait and see. glad I kept my dinner ADR!

YES! We did Harambe Nights a couple summers ago and it was incredible. It sounds like a few features from it are going to appear at AK along with ROL and such. The stilt walkers, the Harambe street party with face paints, etc. If these ROL events are half of what HN was, it will blow you away.

I never got to go to Harambe Nights, but it's one of the few hard ticket events that I heard nothing negative about, which is always amazing! I think because AK is usually closed when it's dark, it's a fun place to be at night.

I think there is some confusion.

Is your response in regards to maryj1's post about a Special Activity in the MK?

There have already been loads of posts about the 3 preview RoL parties that go on sale tomorrow~ is that the event your husband has been invited to?

Now I'm confused. I don't think I said anything about MK???

I haven't seen the 'loads of posts' about the preview RoL parties, I thought today was the first it had been mentioned? Forgive me if I missed something there, I just heard about it from DH this morning.

Alright I know we don't know for sure but this is more of a "what would you do?"
We are going to be in the World 4/18-4/22, 4/20 is our Animal Kingdom day. We have added 4/17 for 1 night at the Yacht Club pretty much so the kids can get their fill of the pool. Should I try for the hard ticket on 4/17, hope for a FP+on 4/22 and switch our days around or just hope they do previews on 4/20? I'm thinking 4/22 would be an everloving nightmare crowd wise and we have 4 kiddos one who is only a year so the thought of battling crowds all day on the 22nd doesn't sound like a good time to me.

The IPO told you that they could not make the reservation for you? I was told that they could. Just trying to figure this out as I don't want to miss out on a reservation....thanks!

They can make normal reservations, but said no to this one... probably due to what the poster below said:

The Itinerary Planning Office got hit bad when BOG opened for breakfast. The ressies went live online at 2:30 am and some some folks who counted on IPO making the ressie in the morning when they opened at 9 am were already shut out. So maybe they don't want that to happen again.

Makes sense, I wish they would have said something about it rather than tell me to check with them every week. I /would/ get shut out if I did it that way, and if I didn't know any better... :/

Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained!

I assume an under-3 would just come along with us if we were to get tickets to a preview event, right?
