Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

Let me see if I can sum up today properly:
1. No new news on Rivers of Light or when any dining packages will be available
2. Disney is now charging $150 for MK Extra Magic Hours.

Stupid question, is it possible the delay in Rivers of Light is because Disney is finalizing details thatwill officially close AK at 5 p.m., and if you want to stay later for ROL and other select attractions they will be charging $150 per person for that priviledge?
Let's not give them any ideas.

you forgot the thrilling Blog news ==> A new burger spot at Disney Springs...cause a burger costs $10 in the park and they can probably charge double that at DS :earseek:

Free mickey bars, sure. But they weren't going to risk folks being hyped up on free Starbucks.

A Mickey bar is NOT a novelty, nope, nope... Those have been around since the dawn of time. I've seen cave drawings of men eating Mickey bars! Novelty: derived from Latin word novus for "new". Ergo, Mickey bars and Dole whips do not qualify as ice cream novelties in my book :rolleyes1

They'll give out Mickey bars without Mickey ears. That's a novelty :D

That is what I was thinking :scared1:

What exactly is an 'ice cream novelty'? The mind boggles at the possibilities!

DH's trip to Disneyland Paris was cancelled because of the events in Brussels. I can't say I mind, but he's disappointed. My younger sister's friend worked at the airport in Brussels, she's OK but very shaken up.

The event at MK is NOT something I would pay for, but obviously some people do see the value so I think it might sell better than we think. It would annoy me that it was non-refundable though, I thought hard ticketed events were usually refundable, especially new ones.
Pretty sure the Christmas and Halloween parties are not refundable.
Something else DH and I purchased recently was non refundable but now I can't remember what it was

Have there been any recent-ish cases where Disney has announced an actual real date for something and then pushed that date? Just curious as I too would assume that they wouldn't have announced April 22 unless they were sure it was going to be April 22. Otherwise, we would still be gettng "Coming Soon Spring (or Summer) 2016".
No, they haven't given an official date and not met it. I believe they know what they are doing when it comes to final dates. This isn't their first rodeo

The Food & Wine seminars are non-refundable - but then they are only about $15

Oh I think you're right, the Halloween and Christmas parties are non-refundable. I was thinking of the dessert parties, I always see people talk about booking those things and then waiting to see how the reviews are.

It was something more recent than that but there are a lot more than just the seminars at F&W that are non-refundable. Most all the extra events there are. We did lots of them too.
Very true! I think hard before I pick up the phone and book F&W events. They are usually non refundable and often not cheap.

Just had a not very useful callback conversation to discuss a frustrated email sent.
The CM I spoke too said she had no new information beyond that the booking date had been postponed; she seemed confused on what 'booking' meant when I questioned her.

She said I should....wait for it...

watch the Website and Blog for further information.
She was very nice and I genuinely felt she wished she had more to share with me but just had no other information.
The best I could get out of her was for her to communicate up the chain, my concerns and frustration.
