Yep its time for rumors/CM told me/my dog/my uncle time.

Grain of salt-

1) Australia confirmed. Possible departures out of Japan. First half of this isn't news, not sure if second half is.
2) Second Triton class ship is nearly complete. Operational next year. This one seems completely wild to me. We haven't even heard about a new name. Not great in the sense I was hoping there would be more time for them to fix issues (tv, lack of cabinets etc) on the second Triton class that they learned during the first one.
3) Magic is retiring very soon. Will become a hotel.

1) Australia makes sense.
2) No way. This one must have come from a WDW bus driver.
3) Nope. It will sometime, but not "very soon." Maybe after the 3rd Triton class ship is operational.

yep definitely some wild stuff. the CM had been with Disney for over two decades according to them and given their place/role in our experience and the context of how the information came up I can't dismiss the rumors out of hand and I actually said "are you serious, literally there is NOTHING on the internet rumor wise about this, that seems super unlikely for 3 different reasons" and the context they provided for their answer at least made logical sense.

So IDK. high probability of total BS but the answers were internally consistent enough that I couldn't write off/rule it out.

Having the 2nd ship already near complete would be a very big stretch. It wasn't scheduled to be launched until 2023 and that was before COVID wreaked havoc with everything being built.

Australia sure, but not sailing from Tokyo unless that is a one-off. It's 10 days from Tokyo to Sydney, and that's with maybe one stop in northern Australia. I know people have found info about Australia, but shifting the Wonder there from California is at least 2 weeks at sea, more assuming they will stop along the way (Hawaii, Tahiti, etc.).

Nope

Japan’s still not re-open for tourism (other than 24/7 monitored guided tours) and there seems to be limited movement towards fully reopening. I’m dubious that they’d arrange and put on sale anything for Japan given the current limitations.
Plus airlines havnt ramped up connections there yet to fill capacity

1) No
2) No, absolutely not
3) That would never happen, especially if #1 happened, which it won't

Let's face it - Disney itineraries are dismal. You'd think they would have upped their game with a 5th ship but no...it's doing the same old boring 3-4 cruises that Disney has done since 1998!

1). Australia does seem to be a strong probability. Japan...doubtful. 2). Nope, not even started yet. 3). Nope.

Yep, I used to travel there frequently prior to the pandemic and don’t have any confidence of them ramping back up to pre-pandemic levels anytime soon (and that’s not even factoring in public opposition to reopening the borders fully).

They're moving the wonder out of CA? What are those of us on this coast going to do then?

No one know anything for sure yet.

But I would guess you will do whatever people have done in the past when DCL has not based a ship on the west coast.

Since Australia's summer is our winter it would put you back in the same situation that you had when the Wonder went back to the East coast in the winter. At least until the next ship arrives. I doubt it would stay in Australia year round since their winter temps are 30-60.

I don't know how they can be that close to be done with the new ship when the Wish was so delayed. Is the fairy godmother helping with this one? LOL
