I heard a rumor from another Disney bride that Mickey showed up at her wedding as a present from Disney--she and her parents did not plan or pay for Mickey. Do you guys think she is lying to me?

having just had my disney wedding, i'd be surprised if you got anything for free. i just don't see that happening.

caryndisneydiva: Congratulations!!! Did Disney give you two a wedding gift (sometimes I see in peoples pictures a picture with them holding watches???) I don't know.

Dakwister, your friend just might be telling the truth. I've read of various surprises over the years. And if such a thing happened to your friend, I think it's wonderful.

Umm not sure...Did she win it from the Dream Team or something lol.

i forgot to include that in my tr...i did not receive them. so i had my sister call linda the day after and she said it was being sent to us. i got an email from marion today saying that the present was defective and she didn't want to give us something that was broken...i really really really want the present, i've been looking forward to it and i'm so glad that we're getting it!!!

I am guessing someone in the family added this element as a surprise for them and didn't want to be named. I really can't see them just adding this as a "gift" for several reasons. It wouldn't be fair to all the brides that didn't get him, what if the bride really would have preferred Donald, or Minnie, etc... They aren't known for giving away $1000 "gift". It would set a precedence that other brides would expect and complain about if they didn't get.

There are 2 remote ways I could see this happening. First is if disney had made some HUGE error on something and was doing this to make up for it.
Second would be if they had it in their original plan and cancelled it at the end, my old planner told me that happens sometimes and no one gets the information to the other department and the couple gets that element free. I saw it happen with upgraded chairs at my planning session.

I think it sounds like someone surprised them but i doubt disney would do it...its a lot of money they'd be giving up and to much of a risk ....what if the couple did not want to have Characters at the wedding??

It has happened in the past! It is called a magical moment! Having spent the last 10 years working for disney and in the wedding and convention area I have seen it happen. I have seen fireworks given and some other items. it is not often but depending on situations it can happen!!

i have to say that i reeieved a magical memomet at my wedding also. it was not as huge as characters but it was very thoughtful. so it could happen

i would really rather not say. it was a nice thing for disney too do and my guests enjoyed it. i dont want to cause problems and make other brides upset so. i will just say that it was not alot but very nice. i am sorry i hope you understnd

i will say it had to do with an upgrade in food
