I just read this rumor on another Disney related website. Darn. We'll be in WDW in late October and SSE is DH's favorite attraction.

Rumours are circulating among Epcot Cast Members that Siemens may make its mark on Spaceship Earth before the end of the year. The work that is currently going on the post show has recently expanded with new walls up. The work is expected to continue till late into 2006, at which time a new post show will open. Starting in October 2006, it is rumoured that Spaceship Earth will likely go under an approximately 6 week rehab in which time Siemens would update the “decent back to earth” portion of the ride to better reflect their products and what they view the future of technology to be. Should the rumours hold true Spaceship Earth is expected to have a new post show and a new ride finale in time for the Holiday Season 2006.

What is the post show? I like Spaceship Earth pretty much as it is now, but it could use some updating.

i believe the post show is the area you walk thru when u get off the ride and there are activities or something to do. not really sure tho....

The post show is where you get off the ride and there are interactive things and displays, when we were there in Jan. it was just bare! it was weird walking through there and it was just a big empty room!

Yeah, the post show area emptied out when the previous sponsor left.

If they plan to be done by the end of the year, they better get a move on. We were there three weeks ago on one of our regular monthly visits, and the same blank walls are still sittin' there doin' nothin'. :confused3

It was all construction walls when we were there just recently (May). We were hoarded down a small exit hallway to the left side.

I'm not sure what mitros saw compared to what we saw, but there is without a doubt construction happening on the post show area.

The walls that we have seen go around the entire center of the ride exit area. You could only get out of the building down 2 narrow corriders going to the right or left.

I'm glad they're finally doing something with the exit. Anybody hear any rumors as to whats going in there?

The ride will end with a Buzz declaring "To infinity and Beyond" and with that in your head the ride will empty into a store named Pixar Depot. Most items will be Pixar Related, but there are apperently concepts for a line of merchandise that uses the phrase "I Love the Wand" prominently
