Rumor: Simpsons ride to replace Back To The Future

Simpsons? I hate the Simpsons. I would love to see them do something different like build a haunted house ride. sort of like the haunted mansion where you ride through, except make it really scarey. maybe feature some of their classic monsters. I don't know, but, enough of the cartoon stuff!

Can you imagine how the Disney people would react to that?

As for the Simpsons rumor, back when IOA opened there was another rumor about a Simpsons area and the ride was about going on the school bus with the hippie driver (whatshisname?), so this rumor isnt entirely out of the question.

Otto

/so sad that i know that

i HATE the Simpsons!!!! it is stupid beyond measure!!!! i LOVE BTTF!!!!! plz don't let them destroy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope this is a meaningless rumor!!!!!!!!!!!!!! let me tell you, i am a 12 year old kid, and if i love BTTF, that means somebody else must too!!!!!!! the whole thing about the ride being taken down because the people who were around for the movies can't ride the ride anymore........ who cares???? i love the ride (it's my absolute favorite!!!!)!!! and BTTF ALWAYS has the longest lines! even in express!!!!! so why would they take away such a crowd favorite????? i am going to USO very soon, so i will have to make sure to ride many times, just in case!!!!! i will also have to make a rct3 recreation of the ride, just as soon as i get a patch for it...............

Yeah, it would worry them thats for sure. pirate: at least it would have a theme that made sense. not bashing WDW, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Disney but, as much as some of us like haunted houses, a good spooky one would be at hit. at least I would like it. :)
I would hate to see BBTF leave, but they do need to tone it down a bit. Jaws is one I wouldn't mind seeing gone. Linda

I would die for a Monster House ride.

I saw the movie twice.. once in 3D.. AMAZING! You guys have to see it. And it'd make a really, really cool attraction. I hope it does well enough to be considered.

I was just thinking...several months ago there were other rumors of a new, completely different BTTF ride....maybe they're adding a Simpsons ride and a new BTTF ride....I doubt it, but you never know

I'm sad. Back to the Future is my favorite!! Both the ride and the movie.

Maggie

I just don't care to have the same ride different movie thing. I would like an attraction that moves through the building. I would really like a thrill ride there.

I agree that it's probably time for BTTF - as it is today - to go. So many people skip it. I still love it but no one else I go with will ride it.

I would love to see them keep BTTF theme but do something like Spiderman - that way it would still be open to the non-thrill riders but be something that thrill seekers would like equally.

I love the Simpsons! :happytv: The kids are leaning towards the Family Guy but I'm a loyalist.
BTTF is kind of dated (get it?). I rode it last 2 visits and didn't spew but it has made me sick in the past.

the Simpsons and Family Guy are two of our favorites as well, but I don't see the tie-in to riding the movies, even with the upcoming Simpsons movie.

BTTF is an occasional ride for us, afew times a year. something needs to happen with it, but why gut BTTF when Production Central remains a ghost town?

I would love to see a monster's haunted house! How cool would that be.

Regardless of what replaces BTTF, is there room there for anything other than what its set up for now?

Yes, lots...there's a huge amount of land behind BTTF and beside MIB for something massive if they choose to. I somehow really doubt they'd use the same building for a Simpsons ride

They have this little problem with the land back there. It's home to the fireworks bunker.

No bunker, no fireworks.

Keep that in mind folks.

what kind of ride would it be if it's based on the Simpsons? And now I"m hearing the family guy. Not sure how it would all tie in to the theme of the area/bldg/park......

Also, the size of the BTTF building isn't as big as one might think. Yes, it's tall, and the domes are large, but overall, there is not a lot of depth to the building. In order to put anything but a simulator in there would require expanding the size of the building, which would be extremely costly. There is a lot of backlot that would be compromised if the building needed expanding.

I agree that BTTF is not very marketable anymore. I was shocked by how many younger people had no idea what the BTTF movies were ! When I was waiting to board the ride, I heard a group of teens commenting on how they never seen these movies and didn't know what it was about. However, there was a smart one in the group who said he will be renting the movies when he gets home. :thumbsup2
