Josh's latest update over on Easywdw speculates on a November opening!!!!!:cheer2:

Uh....I would love that, but doubt it unfortunately

I would be over the moon if that was true! We're there in January and it'll be a couple of years before we can make a return trip after that.

I'm not going to get my hopes up though, aren't Disney's opening predictions usually pretty accurate?

That would be fantastic! We always go the second week of December and would love to have it that soon.

Unfortunately, I doubt it so not going to get my hopes up.

Just keep in mind that, while I trust Josh and am certain he has reliable info to back it up, don't go in expecting it (or getting your hopes up for that matter) because one tiny delay can throw that whole production off-track.:thumbsup2

Oh please oh please oh please!

We were planning on going in October, but them my husband found out he had a conference in June that was in Florida. We decided to go to WDW during this time, as well, and pushed our October trip off to next January. Oh please let this be true! I was so looking forward to being there in the fall, but a mine train ride will more than make up for bumping the trip to January.

Is there a site that has all the info about this new ride? I don't do a lot of coaster so I am just wondering if its something that I would want to ride. Thanks!

Test Track's official opening was March 17, 1999. I was able to ride it during soft openings right before Christmas in December 1998. Never say never : )

We will be there early/mid December this year, and I am curious...not yet optimistic. Will need to check out Josh's site for his insight!

Of all the examples of "early openings" at WDW, a Test Track example would likely be the worst one to cite.

;)

Test Track was originally supposed to open in May 1997 but after many, many problems, the ride opening was delayed by nearly 2 years.

:drive:

I had no clue...I just remember running in the direction of Test Track as word spread of the soft opening. They also soft opened one of the AK trails (one with tigers) during that period. I don't remember the crazy crowds during that Christmas, just the special magic of the soft openings...which I am sure (as you look behind the curtain) were just carefully planned to satiate the masses.

Ohhh you mean November 2014!!!

Since the official dates state 2014...
Right!? Right !!!?
:)

nice... hopefully, there is a soft opening when i go in may. maybe they will let each member of my family choose different color RFID encoded hard hats to wear as we make our way through construction workers and scaffolding.

That would be a "HARD(hat) OPENING."

;)

Can you post a link to the article? Went to the site and didnt see it. Thanks:thumbsup2

It's the first blog entry on the main page. He just mentions it half way down in a sentence beneath a picture of the construction site.

I am cautiously optimistic but will try to maintain a reality check until the Fall when timelines can be more firmed up. But with an early Dec trip coming up I can't help but get a little bit excited about this potential development. :hyper: :yay:  :cool1: :woohoo:

It is going to soft open November 18th. How do I know, you ask?

Because on the last two trips, two big rides had their soft opening the day AFTER we left to go home.

;)
