Little Miss HBK (actually Emma Anne) was brought into the world this evening.

She was born at 9:58PM on Wednesday July 9, 2003. She's currently in ICU being monitored but is expected to be released to the normal nursery within 24-48 hours.

Mom is doing great as well!

Just wanted to share my good news with my friends here :)

congratulations HBK! soon you'll be looking at WDW a bit differently! enjoy the baby, it's over in the blink of an eye!

Congratulations!!!!!

You made me think back about 16 months ago to the day that my ds was born. That was one of the happiest days of my life (that and sharing the MK with him over Memorial Day weekend).

Is this your first?

Congratulations, again!

Congratulations! where are the pictures?

Congratulations to you and to your DW and DD!! I, being the proud owner of TWO of the little cutie-pies, can attest to the fact that your life will never be the same! (in a good way....most of the time!)

Welcome to the world of The Wiggles, Bear in the Big Blue House, Clifford the Big Red Dog and a strange little creature called "Spongebob". This Spongebob thing will become a major part of your life. You will learn the song, you will know the characters and you will pay $19.99 for the DVD of the show that you just watched on TV for free. He will also be the key player in some of the "weirder" scavenger hunts of your life. You will be sent out for Spongebob dolls, skates, backpacks, kitchenware, bedding and even panties. Just wait until your standing in front of the counter at your bakery describing a birthday cake as "He's a square, yellow sponge thingy with a big nose and buckteeth..." AAHHH! It doesn't get any better than that!

Cherish the time that she's a baby because it goes REALLY fast. I know that it will be hard to cherish the time while she's screaming louder than the space shuttle on take-off, at the same time that she is peeing all over while you try to change her diaper for the 10th time in the same hour but cherish it you will....at some point after you heal. Speaking of healing, she will think that it is kind of funny at some point to try to gouge out your eyes...always watch the eyes.

Another tip, a babies head is one of the hardest materials known to man. You thought diamonds were? Common misconception...it's a babies head. This will be proven to you when she unexpectedly lurches back and hits you square in the teeth with it...and the funny thing is that you shouldn't cry but she will! (like the space shuttle...and then she'll pee all over...)

It's all worth it though the day that, out of the blue, for absolutely no reason, she comes in the room, jumps up in your lap and gives you a kiss on the cheek and says "I love you Daddy!" At that moment, you'd change her diapers for 50 years, and you'd have that Spongebob guy tatooed on your arm, if that's what she wanted. ;-)

Good luck and God bless you and your family!

Roy

soon you'll be looking at WDW a bit differently!
Yes, that is quite possible...........................

Not to turn your wonderful event into a debate HB.....................................but what else do we ever do around here ;).

It will be interesting to see if (assuming Disney doesn't improve by the leaps and bounds one would think it would take to get you, Mr. 2K, back in the Disney parks) you will be able to withstand the lure of even a "substandard" Disney as that beautiful daughter of yours grows :Pinkbounc .

Congratulations. I waited until 35 years old to have my son, now almost 4 years old. I can tell parents of young children by the cartoons they know, lol. Problem is, I am also into Spongebob (love Patrick), Fairly Odd Parents, and all those other annoying entities. My husband thinks I am crazy. (probably a little) Definitely enjoy the early years, they are wonderful.

Great news HB2K. A brand spankin' new member for Car #1. Got a baby seat ready for her ?

Congratulations mom and dad.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing changes a families life more than kids!!!

Congrats!!!
The next big step will be when she's tall enough to ride ToT. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Congratulations!!!!

ROTFLMAO!!!!!

I have a permenant bump on my lip from that very thing.

Congratulations! She has a beautiful name. And yes, your life is going to change big time including how you see the parks. It's all going to be better and better except for the occasional feeling that something isn't quite good enough for the little one. :)

Roy, I laughed at your post particularly the part about the baby's head smashing you in the mouth. Mine did that and actually knocked one of my front teeth askew. It's OK though, my mouth is mostly OK now and my dentist is much richer. :p

Emma is a beautiful name she will enjoy. I know as I named my daughter that as well, 9 years ago now... ;)

My grandma told me when I had my first that as a parent the days are so long, but the years so short. This is so true...stop and enjoy every moment that you can. Because you look up one day and they are getting on the bus to Kindergarten, and it feels like 5 minutes have gone by since you held them the first time, not 5 years.

A kiss for baby Emma...

Jennifer

Congratulations! So when is her first trip to WDW? LOL

Enjoy...its always an adventure!

CONGRATULATIONS !!!

Enjoy every moment because time does fly. And it flies by fast.
My DS is going to be 5 on the 20th and I feel like I was just
pregnant. I can't believe how fast they grow.

Take lots of pictures .....

....... and enjoy !!!!!

Congrats, HB2K. We should try to get out daughters together sometime at WDW (our next trip is in Nov/Dec of 2003, and then April 2004). I hope Emma Ann is recovered by now from whatever had her in ICU (how scary is THAT). Good luck with her, I hope she will be the joy of your life. Anyone else had a baby recently?

Roymccoy: since my DH & I are going through that very stage (minus the Spongebob part) with our little one, your post made me laugh out loud - Thanks.

Sarangel

PS. anyone who cares to check out our little one may do so at: www.alexisyoung.org :)

PPS. I'm now starting to have things just enough under control to actually check in on a more regular basis.
