RUMOR: More Disneyland Resort Entertainment Cuts Include Five & Dime, All Avengers Campus Shows, and Green Army Men

Per another Poster: This rumor seems to be wrong and we should have these shows for now

Just wanted to give a heads up to see these shows if you can the next few weeks, many may be cut for a short time or never come back. On June 29th these shows are there but the next day they are all missing.

This breaks my heart. I hope the rumor turns out to be false, but I wouldn't doubt that it is true. It's a pretty nasty knee-jerk reaction to having to pay the entertainers a higher wage.

So glad I rescheduled my July trip to next week. Gonna hug all my super heroes goodbye one last time JIC. I’m really going to miss the DS magic show. A lot of people disliked it and I’m guessing most of those people saw it in the daytime…it should have NEVER run in the daytime. It’s like RSR…so much better in the dark!

Granted, I’ll be happy if in two weeks, they announce a BRAND NEW Avengers showing in that space…but I’m not holding my breath.

In the meantime, I will plan my Christmas trip and then a spring trip and then that’ll probably be the end of my MK unless a lot of changes are made. I’ll go back to just an annual trip.

Seriously, I’m ever the optimist and I’m hoping they are planning some GREAT SURPRISES and LOTS OF NEW SHOWS for us in 2025!
But the reality is they are banking n the rehab of HM and opening of Tiana’s Splash Factory to draw in people…people who will not be me.

Well Funny thing is there are now rumors of HM Q not being ready on time.....and CC should be closed until the new Splash opens

So summer and some of Halloween season is just going to me less shows and less rides....just not the best look

This rumor is not true. DL is notoriously slow posting showtimes - sometimes only a few days in advance. See the first week of July here: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/calendars/day/2024-07-03/#/disney-california-adventure/.

Avengers Assemble, Five and Dime, and other Avengers Campus shows on the calendar on Wednesday July 3rd and other dates.

Not to say things couldn't be cut, but clearly all Avengers Campus shows and Five and Dime are not being cut on 6/29 as rumored in the article posted.

My understanding is that they are reducing the number of shows not getting rid of them completely.

This is why I believe disneyland forward it total crap, They cut entertainment during the busiest season, old my friend going in augusttment. Atmospheric entertainment is so imprtant for the show, I saw Dr strange for teh first time and really enjoyed it.I told my friend to see it when he goes in august. We are supposed to believe disney is supposed to be spending millions when they constantly cheap out on disneyland and dca. It takes them 2 years to do a reskin of splash mountain, all with charging premium prices, I don't believe it.

He is saying look at for D23 news, these shows being cut or losing showtimes seem to have to do with new entertainment coming to the DLR but we have to wait 2 months to see if true

The thing is Summer is no longer the busiest season. If it were they wouldn’t be offering deep discounted tickets right now.

Agreed. Cutting back on entertainment to save money is not what Disneyland should be doing. Entertainment adds to the atmosphere.
I personally believe Disney wanted more zoning and property rights and that is why Disneyland Forward happened. DL will do the bare minimum to satisfy the agreement with Anaheim. Look at how long it is taking with the HM and Tiana. Does anyone think Disney is going to start investing in building new attractions at Disneyland anytime soon?! No. Just take a look at Tomorrowland and you'll see the obvious answer.

Summer is one of the lighter seasons, not the busiest.

Remember, vloggers need to drive traffic to their channels. One mentioned above is particularly bad when it comes to starting rumors. Take what he says with a grain of salt.

I think it's both

This is Disney they literally didn't close our splash at the same time as WDW because they wanted to use part of the same crew to work both attractions. So they are pinching pennies whenever they can but I could see a new show coming to the Dr Strange stage area but either with a new character or just a new show with dr strange

I don't see using the same crew to build identical rides as a bad thing. I think it is probably more time efficient and likely reduces errors.
