Rumor mill!

Saratoga Springs is going to end up being a huge resort with its own significant demand for this pool. I bet DVC is just anticipating this and limiting pool hopping here from the get go so they can avoid the unenviable task of removing this privilege after a year or two.

I had thought, and now I can't remember where, that there would be pool hopping allowed between SSR and OKW, but not the other DVCs.

I'm trying to remember where, maybe my guide when I bought my Dec. UY contract for BCV, so maybe is about a year old info

????

Maybe someone else can comment.

Goldi.
I think you must have seen it proposed on this board as it has been a few times. I've don't recall anyone saying they were told that.

As I said, this surprised me. I think the days of PH are numbered, however with this being exclussively a DVC resort, I didn't think it would happen immediatley. We shall see but this is the first time I've heard about this possibility.

No! Mickey, if youre reading this plrase dont end poolhopping! As members this will probably be the only way we see resorts like Coronado springs............

I think Disney would rather we visit other resorts to dine (ie. spend money) than to swim (which doesn't boost the bottom line). I don't think many decisions are based solely on what guests would really like anymore.

We had a wonderful morning at Coronado over the summer...breakfast at the Maya Grill then a walk around the lake and some playground time. So it is possible to enjoy other resorts without swimming (and not nearly as wet!)

if this is a DVC resort (not a WDW resort) how can they say no pool-hopping then expect other WDW resorts to allow pool-hopping -

no I think is this happen - pool-hopping is gone....

maybe then the OKW members would vote to have a slide at OKW.....maybe?

If pool hopping is not allowed at SAB and now SSR, then they should stop pool hopping all together. Why should BWV and VWL have to have crowded pools but not the other DVC resorts? OKW has pool hopping too but not many pool hop to OKW they pool hop away from OKW.

I wonder how much it woudl cost in dues for OKW members to add a slide?
Has thsi ever been propsed before? Or have DVC members ever had to vote on anything so far?
Persoanlly, I'd be much more likely to want to staty at OKW if it had a better themed pool. My kids are still young and my oldest spends soem major slide time while we're at the pool.

Another way to go...allow pool-hopping to any non-DVC pool. End pool hopping for all DVC resorts. I guess that wouldn't help the Polynesian. But it would have the advantage of showcasing non-DVC resorts to DVC members.

DVC has to contract with other WDW resorts to get us pool-hopping - remember DVC is not in the same department as the WDW resorts are - so if DVC resorts don't have pool-hopping why should the WDW resorts allow it - they won't (my opinion).

yes long ago DVC send out a survey and voting form - to OKW members - OKW members did not want a pool slide or lifeguards or most buses to the MK - I know I was mad too - I voted for all these things - but the majority then ruled.

now I don't think that DVC would do it - they aren't going to sell any new contracts at OKW - so it would not benefit them and it would add to the cost. but if enough OKW members say to DVC that they wanted a slide they might consider it.

Shoot, even as a BCV owner I'd be willing for my dues to go up a little bit so they coudl ahve enough to cover buliding a slide there.
