Rumor about potential major reduction in operating hours for WDW if Disney Asia parks remain closed due to coronavirus

To be clear I’m not blaming DVC owners at all. The only criticism I have leveled has been against the brokers who are not even offering to refund their “profit.” Also I’m not at all convinced that the brokers won’t legally owe the money back to the renters if the resorts themselves shut down.

I think until the resorts actually shut down, if that happens, it would be a slippery slope for the rental companies to refund even just their portion of the stay. What happens next hurricane season? Or if someone has really compelling personal circumstances?

I posted this in the other Corona thread.

I'm in my 30 day window of my trip on March 28th and I just cancelled. Typically at this stage you lose your $200 deposit and get everything else back. Guest Services allowed the agent to refund my deposit as well. So if you're in the situation where you are cancelling (I'm traveling with people over 65) you more likely than not might be able to get a full refund if you're in the 30 day window.

It would also help a lot, if WDW would refill their new Purell dispensers a little more throughout the day. Sure they look great but it would help if there was Purell in them.
Laugh out loud. Don't count on it.

You do realize that there is a massive shortage in the sanitizer industry? Due to the virus most large distributors and manufacturers are low and out of product. I'm sure disney does have some stock but I'm guessing its limited at the moment. But it's easier to claim disney is being cheap.
If Disney is low on cleaning products one word comes to mind... YIKES. I view it as laziness. We have a large amount of coffeehouses in the northeast and it's so hard to get them to wipe down tables and you have to ask. This should be automatic.

This. We literally cannot get sanitizer, anywhere around here. I've checked at least a dozen different stores - they're all out of stock, and manufacturers are out as well.

You can't even begin to compare the two. It's not laziness on Disney's part when they don't even have the product. Or, if they do, it's in such short supply that they have to use it sparingly - as in basically reserve it for employees etc...

It is not laziness. It is supply and demand. Novel thought. Why dont you carry your own hand sanitizer rather than expecting someone else to provide it for you.

That's too funny. We may not agree but I appreciate your point of view.

Simply put. No business is required to provide hand sanitizer. Most do it out of convenience to the customer. At the moment the main manufacturers, and I know them because I buy a lot of it for our bases globally, are out of product. They prioritized hospitals and other emergency services. And when they have more they will continue to prioritize it. So rather than expecting disney to provide it, maybe use some self responsibility, and have your own.

Ouch. Pull no punches. I like that as well.

But you can’t find it anywhere. That’s what the person you quoted was saying. Not sure why you quoted her when it was clearly stated.

It's to the benefit of all of us if Disney provides hand sanitizer and washing stations.

I can bring my own. I can wash my hands and have my kids wash theirs. I can't increase the chances everyone else keeps their hands clean (or clean-ish, if they're just using sanitizer). That's where Disney providing it all over the parks comes in. Contrary to what people are telling themselves, you aren't out of the woods if you keep your own hands clean and don't touch your face. We need as many people as possible to do this too.

The NBA just suspended their season. Pretty much anything’s a possibility in regards to things shutting down at this point. Didn’t think much of it a couple weeks ago but I’d be surprised if the parks don’t close down at some point
It's just a matter of when. NBA ends the season. I wouldn't be surprised if they cancel March madness

An NBA player for the Utah Jazz tested positive. I can't imagine what the surrounding players in the locker room must be thinking.

I thought Iger recently announced they are not shutting down the parks. But, that was like ages ago (I think the last 24-48 hours). I do see the domestic parks closing down.

Now I think MLB is next on the suspended season list.
