Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Have you been since they put the walls up? It's really not at all. It's the most claustraphobic park. I know it's huge in space but a lot of that is just the lagoon. WS is a nightmare almost always at nights and on weekends. You can find space outside the Land Pavilion and to a lesser extend Test Track but how often do you really want to be hanging out in those areas. The new walkways are very narrow and crowded.

I'm guessing there was no CM schedule news yet this week? What is the union agreement on how much notice they have to be given? I'd think it's at least 2 weeks.
5 days if they can be reached by phone. If not 10 days from the date the certified letter is mailed. Personally I think a large majority are gonna answer that phone call...

World showcase is unbelievably hard to walk through some days. There's some monster bottlenecks back there. You're so right on the walls too, now future world is pretty narrow too.

So if bad surprises, could this mean Disney was really caught off guard with UO and they are rushing to open "something" to counter Universal?

I for one will not. We need to go home but have not been able to because of my wife's job. Her summer off starts in a week. I don't think they'll open before 6/14 anyway, but just preparing myself for if we get a shockingly early date tomorrow.

As for Epcot, it just makes way too much sense to keep it closed. There is no need for it. 3 parks is good enough and they can use the extra time to finish construction ahead of schedule. or at least get the spine open for crowd flow. Reopen it for the 50th with Rat and Guardians both debuting.

If crowds are significantly lower what if they find its financially worthwhile to not have to staff Epcot at all, keep it closed, and speed up the construction so they can open it up all the way when crowds start coming back in old normal levels.

...and they keep APs frozen throughout while still letting them enter parks 😂. Now I’m really dreaming.

the approval meeting is a formality too.
no way Disney presents anything that they don’t already know is a go, in particular since they know exactly what UO is doing and how they got 100% unanimous approval.

If it is a surprise that they are opening before 6/14, there will be a lot of pissed people who got cancelled on
Oh true. That could be especially with that cryptic message about cancellations that came out last week.

...or maybe it’s finally the paid FastPass system 😂

Remind me, please -- what cryptic message about cancellations?

True it is going to be hard for the International CM's to get back here, along with all the construction going on , it does make sense to keep it closed ( Crossing fingers for not ) but on the flip side with F&W from Aug-Nov, That's going to be a lot of $$$ that they will not be generating from that :teacher:.

Well, no need speculating anymore, we will all know in about 12.5 hours for sure:confused3

Hey who knows! Depending on how bad it is they might actually rely on those AP holders over the next year or so. I don't think they'll extend them the entire time Epcot is closed if that's what they do. Probably throw in some extra perks though. Like an extra passholder magnet...

The only thing about Epcot is would that really be a surprise? That’s been on the list of rumors for a while. I kinda think the surprise will be that they’re opening during a period when ppl have already been cancelled like pp said. That would be a surprise to me if I had been cancelled & then they still opened!

Well, it's been on *our* list of possibilities for a while. Maybe this source doesn't know that so they think it would be a surprise for everyone. who knows!

Or maybe water parks opening? That was never a thought until Universal did it.
