Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Reports are they wouldn’t even start until late July. I’m no sports experts, but I don’t think they’d possibly be done by end of August.
I’m talking when negotiations originally started which was in April, what WDW would have ideally wanted. Mid June would probably be the earliest they could even start at this point for sure. That would still give them 8-10 weeks, though.

Just my take on all of this. Not saying it’s fact.

I've read reports that trainers wanted about 6 weeks to get the players ready again, but speculation is, they will only get 4 - 5 weeks. June 1 is being bandied about as the date teams will start recalling players, so if we start the clock from that date, I would think going to WDW would be around first or second week of July? My Nets opened their practice facility today (woohoo!), can't wait to see how this all shakes out!

I will share the glory if I somehow ended up being right on accident.
:rotfl:

I already have my "I told you so" post written out and ready to cut and paste onto this thread. I'm just hoping I can actually use it . . . LOL! Posts like that always go over so well here on the DIS!

I know people want to be optimistic but there is no mention of Disney in that. For all we know it might be SeaWorld presenting their plans

I didn't say it did. ;) Just sharing the information update!

"Normal" will not suddenly arrive at the end of the summer or this Fall. It's going to be a while until "normal" returns. We are nowhere near low enough cases that we don't have to worry about transmission and we will not have an approved vaccine and approved treatments for a while. It's not like these conditions will magically appear within the next few months. Disney cannot afford to remain closed until "normal" returns. Modifications is and will be the name of the game.
Who knows how the virus will actually go, but thus far places "opening back up" hasn't caused huge spikes .. which is a good thing.

At least in my area of the country, it seems most(especially the young) just don't care to be afraid of the virus and make their own risk assessments and just go about their normal lives like they were in early March (for better or for worse). I think we will see more "normal" every week as the summer goes by and more and more people go out .. don't actually catch the virus, don't know anyone else who does .. and thus go out even more.

So .. the virus will still be out there, but by "normal" I mean . not treating it like the plague like we have since mid-March.

Hold the phone here...Yulilin3 posted something that makes me go hmmmm....this says press conferences, not task force meetings. So is the meeting still on for tomorrow?

There is a task force meeting tomorrow. Disney as of right now is not on the agenda. An updated agenda could likely come before the meeting tomorrow. Disney’s presentation could also call for a special separate meeting.

Not that it matters what I think, lol, but I think they should go resort guests only at first and give AP a choice of whether they want their AP “paused” and extended (partially refunded, etc) or if they want to use it and go as a resort guest. I don’t think it would be fair to make them pay for a ticket.

I choose pause, but that is not currently an option. Of course, when they call me with the reopening date, I am going to pursue it.
