Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Oh boy! I am so sorry. We had several flights between our WDW trip and our cruise. Before cancellations were even announced, every single flight changed. Everything is such a mess.
American changed my flight to FL from 9AM to 1:30PM and didn't even notify my. I stumbled on the change when I was looking up something else on their website. I get that they have to consolidate flights right now, but really no email notification? :confused3

The FL Resident Discover Disney tix have been extended through Sept. 30. At this point, after March and now June trips have been/will be cancelled, I'm just not feeling it.

Either go in miserably hot, hurricane-prone August (when Boo is still out of school) or take her out of school for a week in mid-Sept., which is a non-starter.

Plus, new FL resident room rates haven't been released, so I can't rebook until they update the FL Resident Sun & Fun rate that are bookable through July 9th... I don't even know what I'm going to do yet.

At this point, I'm roughly $2500 in... one night at AKV ($450), two tours (horseback riding & starlight tour+/- $300); 4 nights at Pop, 4-day PH tix & 4 nights DxDP ($1750).

I'm thinking of saying "the heck with it" and getting a cabin in the Smokies in August at this point.
I know it was such a tough decision for us.
They may not cancel June people, but I figured the experience would not be enjoyable. We were 2 grand for our stay, so I completely understand.

AA did the same to me! No notification and my flight changed from getting in at 6a on 7/7 to 11:30p on 7/6! I need to call and book a different flight, but kinda waiting to hear if there are any opening plans this week. They cancelled all direct flights from LAX until 7/7 last week, so I am thinking they know something (totally speculation, but I think WDW might open after 7/4 weekend).

I'm beginning to wonder if things do open up a bit more by July, they start to add flights back and attempt to return us closer to our original departure times. Maybe why they didn't notify us of the changes? Not sure if that's expecting too much from their computer systems or not.

American did notify me, but one of my Southwest flights didn't. I found out when I was checking my account in regard to a different trip. Another flight was changed from a late evening flight to the next morning.

I agree on the after July 4th thought. It just seems impossible to imagine them doing fireworks in an open park after being there myself last year. I can see them streaming them live or just showing an old video.

United did something similar to me. I discovered my flight (end of June) to Orlando had been removed from the list of Denver-Orlando flights. In fact, all nonstop DEN-MCO flights were removed. I was afraid my flight had been cancelled (even though it still appeared in my flights; fewer than 20 people on the flight so not sold out). I called and was told my flight had not been cancelled, but I couldn’t get any more information from the representative who answered the call. Yesterday I discovered there is now one nonstop DEN-MCO flight. My flight was automatically changed to this with no notification to me. I just discovered it when I was checking the app. There‘s a change of approximately 8 hours from my original flight so I don’t want this one. I’d rather take Southwest. Now I have to call United and see if they will refund me since they changed the time unexpectedly. It’s not a big deal if they won’t. I can take a credit to use in the future, but it would be nice if they would refund me since a difference of 8 hours is rather drastic.

That's what I am secretly hoping too as I really want a non-stop flight. All of the other majors still have their non-stops. AA usually has 4 a day from LAX... seems crazy to not have any if the parks are open.

I actually like the orderliness of all of this vs the free-for-all that you usually see at wdw. But, then again, this isn’t China so not sure ppl here will be able to handle it 😔.
The Type A personality side of me likes some of the organization of this, but again, people in America generally don't do well with being told what to do. I don't like when people touch me in a queue (including my children, lol.) At least Disney is trying to make it work??? Maybe it's enough "theatre" to make the lawyers feel safe enough to open?

For those following along with CM schedules. The schedule has not come out today. They usually get their schedule a week out every Sunday, this lack of schedule also happened at the beginning of closures, it came out I believe it was Tuesday or Wednesday.
So there was an actual schedule the last few weeks?
