Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Also, I am not a lawyer but I read that liability waivers were not allowed for minor children in FL.
No lawyer here either, just a very little laymen’s knowledge from owning a business. Of course state laws vary, so who knows.

I do find it interesting when actual published government data that Disney and Florida's government is also looking at to determine how and what modifications to make is being deleted, on the severity of the virus. When info from a friend of a friend, or what someone has heard from a CM or bus driver said is no problem and actively discussed.

For once I agree with you.

Although I will add that I find it disappointing that posting any related info that may affect opening dates seems to be prohibite, not just the disney/Florida links.

There is a breaking story in the uk in the last day that affects kids which seems to be covid related. I darent post it here although it clearly would affect disney.

Because we shouldn't be speculating about the "when WDW reopens". This thread concerns the "what WDW do we come back to".

Data about New York has nothing to do with rumored modified experiences for Disney theme parks.

Just remember that this thread is specifically about what modifications Disney will put in place when they reopen in phases. If you have published government data on that, please post, but a lot of the government data, while important to the COVID topic in general, does not address specific modifications for theme parks. For example, anything related to *when* WDW may reopen, is not relevant to this thread. Or, anything about the cases in Orlando or Florida, or nearby states or the US or the world. There are other threads in the Rumors board and the Communities board to speculate on other COVID-related topics.

Ugh. I know. I'm guilty of mask touching though. I have an incredibly small distance from mouth to ear. I have not found a single mask that fits and they all slip down. I touch it to pull it up but i get that thats not a ton better. Just ugh.
I get it, I have a problem because I have a big head and sometime the masks with ties don't go back far enough to tie due to both head size and hair, then the ones with the ear loops hurt because I have more spacing between my face and ears so they pull. My sister is trying to make some for me that will fit my head for our *fingers crossed* July trip just in case they say we have to wear masks. Thankful I've been in healthcare long enough that I'm trained not to touch my face, but I know it's super hard for most people, and will be next to impossible with all the heat and humidity as people tend to wipe sweat off of their face throughout the day.

Completely get that, your board your rules, as it should be but someone posting about their trip to Costco does? Either way, no worries no debate about this from me and I will keep it to modifications only.

I am only one person so I can miss posts from time to time. If you have a questionable post that you even think may be off topic use the report button and it can be reviewed.

we have our vacation set for beginning October but if by then the parks are not operational or offer limited experiences I will just rebook for 2021. If we are forking over thousands of dollars I don’t think I would take less than a full experience.

The costco post was just an example of people not wearing masks right, which is an observation and how I expect people could act in the parks should masks be required. I was also echoing the statement from another person about masks not being worn appropriately, but they are more than welcome to take my posts down (which they will, and often do, because obviously we can't really have a conversation about modifications and how we feel about them, we can only post new info about rumors and modifications and then move on....or that's how it feels anyway)

Until something is official nothing is official. I don’t mean to be difficult but everything before them is pure speculation. Right now the parks are closed until 6/1. So I would guess there will be an update to that around mid May

even states lifting stay at home are requiring out of state visitors to quarrantine 2 weeks. So doubt they would open under that restriction. And as far as opening and hoping people would self police and social distance forget it. Look at the cali beaches. People won’t be able to do it. It will be Disney having to calculate the liabiliaty factor (and they will not be the only employer wrestling with that) and the risk of opening up limited or not vs the reward of recovered revenue. My speculation is I don’t see it opening anytime soon. And although I really want to take my trip at the end of August I’m ok with it if they don’t open. I trust they will make a decision that will ensure that when we can again go we will be able to do so safely and enjoy the trip to as full an extent as we have come to expect.

I believe NYC mass transit transports more passengers per year then any other US City. NYC mass transit continues to operate, with questionable success of social distancing. It is unknown to what extent this is responsible for spread in NYC. Could this have an impact on Disney's decision making with respect to Disney transportation?

I am sure Disney is looking at everything however Disney is also going to go with advice and guidelines set by local authorities in their respective theme park areas.

Where do you get that parks are closed until 6/1? I don’t think that’s a fact, just an assumption.

“Closed until further notice” I believe is the official word on the website.

Because that 6/1 date and onward is when they are taking reservations. So many are using that date to suggest it may be a target date to reopen.

That's one thing she's doing so I can use masks I already have (but again, headbands are a problem with the fact I have a big head and lots of hair, they pop right off half the time and give me a headache if they don't). She sews, I don't, so she's just making ties longer for me and making them in Disney fabrics she had left over from a project she did for my daughters. I know masks can be helpful, but I'm really hoping they don't make them mandatory. Also hoping that by the time I go there will be some decent antibody tests being performed, and proof of a high antibody count or something can be used in lieu of a mask (since I already had the virus, and more than a mild illness at that). We'll just have to see at that point, but I have a feeling I'll be sweating through my masks every day.

What exactly is the problem with face touching while wearing masks. I get the touching your face with gloves defeating the purpose of the gloves, but the mask is to prevent you from spreading it to others not the other way around right? So while good practice to not touch your face, it's not like doing so delegitimizes wearing a mask. I have lots of sensory issues and it's pretty much impossible for me not to constantly have to readjust my masks or take them off all together.
