Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

One of my co-workers called to book a VIP tour in July and they are not allowed to book any tours at this time. She was told that when Disney does open, it may be in phases and that Epcot will more than likely not open at the same time as the other parks because the majority of the castmembers were sent home before they weren't able to fly home.
Interesting. On a selfish note, fear if this happening is why I booked the Poly for our summer vacation vs the Epcot resorts. I sure hope it works out, my eldest son had his high school marching band trip to Disneyland cancelled, he was really looking forward to that. Sad thinking how many folks are in that same boat.

While I understand the logic to phased openings, I don’t really want to pay Disney prices for a less vacation.

Smart thinking We may move resorts too. We currently have BWI club level booked, but with Epcot maybe opening last, possible club level changes in food, good attraction fast passes being limited or non existent, and unable to utilize disney signature services; it’s looking like we would be paying more money for less experiences. Our trip is July 2-11 Hopefully information from Disney will be given in enough time for us to make changes.

My theiry
Springs as soon as non essential retail and bars/restaurant dining rooms get the green light to open
Then Magic
Then Studios/Animal (possibly same day as magic or a few weeks later)
Last Epcot to ramp up construction/allow for international cast members to return/train generic cast members for world showcase

Possible but I won’t take it as gospel until it’s confirmed by a bus driver😉.

This is a complete rumor (I have only heard this from personal experiences on various boards/groups) - but I have heard people are having much more difficulty with booking FP+ for June (as in, availability is much lower and they are unable to get FP+ like they normally would).

Has anyone seen any articles linked to this or heard something more concrete than some random person on the internet? Just curious. I googled and couldn't find anyway.

I guess this would make sense anyway since it is pretty obvious they won't completely reopen like normal.
Start with this comment post and read on for the DIS post on it. Numerous people here on the DIS are reporting good/decent FPs are much harder to come by so I don't it's rumor. No one knows why.

FP's are almost impossible to get for anything worthwhile at moment.
NO Tier 1 anywhere in Hollywood, first ones you can get for Tier 2 are 5:00 and on.

MK is easier. Epcot is bad too.

They have limited them for sure.

I agree. We aren’t going until the end of August, but if we can’t have the full experience we will cancel. I’m sure having things closed isn’t as much of an issue for people who go every year or every two years.

My family was planning to go in November, but we ar waiting to schedule anything until we are sure everything will be back to normal or semi normal. I'm not going to spend that much money, if my family can't get the full Disney experience.

You could be waiting awhile. Til this virus disappears or there is a way to treat it, the Disney magic everyone is used to won't be back. No fireworks, no parades, limited meet and greets. Just treat Disney as you local theme park and you will be good.

I agree, we will probably wait awhile. Not costing me a dime to wait. Our family could care less about fireworks and parades, but I wont pay the crazy money they want to go an endure a nightmare when it first opens back up. Disney will always be available.

Why not check out another park instead?

My family is hoarding money. Not going.
If we weren't being cheap 2020. I would not go to a park if most things were closed and I had to wrangle masks on kids. In July heat. Fastpass being reduced means I can't tour how my family tours.
I just love this. Like my spirit disboard member.

I predict DW will sell and require it's own masks, gloves and hazmat type suit, not to mention a 12 page waiver signed by all arriving!

I won't go back until it's normal, either. I have a trip booked May 2021. I have no problems postponing it to May 2022. I will not wear a mask all day at a theme park. I will not go there with reduced experiences.
