Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I do have.a question about queues. Would those mean you can't even get onto walk-on attractions? Things like Peoplemover? Or the Carousel? You would have to get a queue for every single attraction? The thing that....confuses/concerns me about that is...will there be a maximum of queues per person/overlapping. With FP+, you get an hour slot, and you cannot overlap that slot with another FP. If they don't allow overlapping of queues, it would be a long day to get on very few attractions.

On top of that, think of all the criss-crossing across MK park that could come of it. I guess I struggle to know the logistics of how it would work.

I haven’t seen any rumors yet on the technical side of how this will work. My opinion, they will use virtual queue for the larger, more popular rides that typically bring larger crowds and longer lines. Something like, say, Voyage of the Little Mermaid that has a constant moving line (unless stopped for wheelchairs) doesn’t seem like the kind of attraction they would use something like a VQ on. I could see them laying out decals similar to what we have seen in Shanghai encouraging social distancing on something like that.

Please don’t flame me if this is old news, I keep reasonably up to speed but not as closely as many here. I remember last month reading about how Disney had changed one of the app menu headers to say “My Queues” leading most to assume more virtual queues are coming.

I was just poking around the app and came across this screen, which was new to me. Is this new, or was that already a part of the “My Queues” update last month?

Again, apologies if old news.

As for alcohol, I'm late to that conversation, but am I understanding it correctly that you can't get alcohol right now in Florida?!

Good grief, here in my province, the alcohol and canabis stores were deemed essential services and allowed to stay open. Not only that, but grocery stores are allowed to sell alcohol, and many are doing delivery service. Same with restaurants - take out only, but you're allowed to order alcohol as part of that (and get it delivered if they offer that service). So you can now get your alcohol delivered to your doorstep. Welcome to Canada, 'eh? 😆

On a serious note though, they have said that bars will be one of the last things to open, though pubs serving food will be allowed to open if they can maintain social distancing.

As far as Disney goes, I can see it going either way. I can see them not allowing it, due to the risk of impaired judgement which could affect a person's ability to comply with distancing requirements. Or, I can see them allowing it as a way to boost sales.

Florida quarantining without alcohol, you just crack me up. It sounds like our quarantine alcohol policy here in Florida is the same as yours, minus the cannabis, as we only have medicinal marijuana here in Florida.

Do you have a link where he includes a screen shot of the pop up I posted? I do not see it in his article from last month. His article (similar to others I read and noted) had just picked up on the fact that they had added the words “My Queues” in one corner of a menu.

Not without doing some digging. I was sure I had seen others discuss the "Join a virtual queue" thing, but maybe it was just the "My Queues"

My queues have been there on the DL and WdW app, the new screen that disappeared on the wdw was new.

It seems they're definitely testing some measures - the message for online check in, now this. There were reports of people trying to book last night that were unable to - everything said unavailable etc...

Speaking of the app and this may be the wrong place to ask but did anyone with a summer trip booked open up app to find message about selecting magic bands and receive and email after saying they are being shipped?

Interesting. My trip is July still not letting me select bands but intriguing development!
