Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

They’ve removed the ability to book rooms, FPS, adrs, dessert parties, glow nights - everything I’ve checked. They know they’re going to be closed. They don’t want the system overwhelmed with people calling all at once like they did in March. I’m as sad as anyone over this, but might as well face it. This is our 2nd...doesn’t get any easier.

Seems I can still book FPs and ADRs. At least on my computer.

I'm an AP with resort stay booked June 13-29. I can book FPs for any day in June within this 30 day window plus every day of my resort stay, meaning there's only 5 days in June I can't book for just because its availability isn't open to me, not because there aren't any FPs to book. I could book a FP for June 1st if I wanted to.

Has anyone called and asked about their June reservations?

We have cancelled our family July trip . No way would any of us wear a mask all day and night for a week. I just wonder how many people say they don't have a problem wearing a mask have actually done it for 8 or 9 hours straight. That is a lot different than wearing one for 30 minutes in a store. And yes I have worn a mask one time inside for 30 minutes and will never do it again. I think after a week of Disney Springs being open with a mask requirement Disney will see it will not work in the parks. We will just wait till common sense makes a comeback.
::yes:: Can confirm, it sucks.

I have to wear a face covering at work. Many of us don’t put it on til the store is opening and uncover at least our nose when in the back...they’re just so darn hot. I have gotten somewhat used to them but I can’t imagine walking around in our summer heat. Just walking to my car after work with my mask on is unpleasant, and it’s not that hot yet.

edit: i live in central fl...by our summer heat i mean at a theme park or any other outdoor location.

The site it terribly glitchy at the moment. Back when I posted, I could not add any FP's for June- we have AP's and have FP currently booked for the end of June. Now, the middle of June is n/a. I can book June 1-7th and June 27-30th which makes absolutely no sense at all. Can I just say, I am so sick of the mask discussion. Just had to get that out.

Yeah they are doing lots to the site right now. Out of curiosity I tried booking the Savi Lightsaber experience, Droid Depot, and Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique at both MK and DS and I get the "We're working on it" page

I seriously doubt the system can handle a mass cancellation like that.
Even if the system can’t handle a mass cancellation. It would be nice for an announcement. Something about not opening in June and that over the next few weeks June reservations will be cancelled and then they can say something about reservations still being accepted for July.

I don’t disagree, but I also don’t think they’re ready to make that call just yet.

They’re following similar patterns the already closed and cancelled dates saw, the major difference being DS is opening. Take that for what you will. First they stop taking reservations, then comes the rolling cancellations. They left people hanging like this at the end of March when it was abundantly clear they were not opening April 1.

I don’t think they commit themselves to not opening for the entire month of June in early May. It’s not like Disney doesn’t want to open the most out of everyone.

They have said they are closed until further notice. They are not going to give any specific dates on anything.

If they announce they're definitely closed, people will call demaning immediate refunds regardless of what they say about refunding. I saw it in March. They announced the were closed, gave the deadline for refunds and for 90% of those wanting to cancel, they could've done it online or they could've waited a few days and Disney would cancel it all for them. Didn't matter- the phone lines were overwhelmed and people were raising heck about being on hold for hours. I never made a single call to cancel dozens of reservations. Disney did it all and I got refunded eventually.

Can't see that anyone has posted on this thread yet that the operational info page on the WDW site has now been change to July 1st and later for new reservations. Now it's official!

I don’t know if this adds anything but for our May res they canceled all ADRs after they sent the email saying our trip was canceled on their own but FPs were still there until we canceled the room.

The Disney Food Blog says that Raglan Road confirmed they will not be opening on May 20 but it is working on its own reopening plan. I wonder how many locations will actually open on the 20th.
Similar thing here in our state. Patios open 5/15 and inside dining open 5/21. Many restaurants have come out and said they won’t be ready by then whether that means supplies, reorganizing to account for 6’, staffing, or just not feeling safe enough yet.
