Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Agreed. Same goes for World showcase. Regular CM’s could easily work in the place of international cp’s until a new group comes.

Epcot will probably be the last to open, but I doubt its much later than the rest of the parks, but who knows at this point

I agree with you! Plus my cheer contact is still saying the Summit will be held with the rescheduled mid June dates and people have been able book.

No one knows for sure. Disney told Travel Agents that June was now unbookable but that they would continue to cancel existing reservations 1 week at a time. They also said that they would keep travel agents in the loop if they decide to change that July 1st date “earlier or later”.

So there’s no guarantee of anything yet. But June is looking bleak.

It just doesn't make sense to me. If they know for sure that they wont open before July 1, why not cancel all June reservations now? Why wait? This makes me think they still want to try to open in June.

I seriously doubt the system can handle a mass cancellation like that.

Said differently:
Disney World is officially closed through May 31st.
Disney is no longer accepting reservations for June.
Next week Disney will decide whether to cancel the first week of June. The next week they will decide on the second week of June. And so forth.

It’s how they’ve handled the cancellations this far, I believe.

This is the company that changes park hours a week before my trips. I am not surprised by any of this.

“Guests are able to modify these bookings subject to availability if Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme parks and resort hotels open before or after” July 1st.

Disney isn't canceling reservations because they haven’t made a final call.

Haven’t May guests been in the dark like this? We knew June 1st is when bookings started but the cancellations were rolling and park hours were not knocked off all at once either, right? Was April like this too? I can’t remember.

If they do a month at once people complain they didn’t even try to open and couldn’t possibly know if they can open 1 to almost 2 months from today. They’re disappointing people either way.

Oh I know. I just think it’s not an IT issue, it’s that they are waiting until the last minute to make the call.

this is a fluid situation and they may not know for sure.
