Some one sent this to me and it made me smile. So to all my "wild and crazy" teachers hanging out at the ice cream parlor and keeping company with men. Enjoy!

Garrettford Elementary School Principal Wayne McAllister found a copy of a 1915 Rules for Teachers inside the school safe that were clearly for the all-female teaching staff.
The rules prohibited teachers from marrying during the term of their contract or from riding in a carriage or automobile with any man unless he was their father or brother.
You are not to keep company with men, the list specifies along with a directive to be home between the hours 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Teachers may not loiter downtown in ice cream stores, smoke cigarettes, dress in bright colors or dye their hair.
Dresses must not be any shorter than 2 inches above the ankle.
The educators had duties to perform, including keeping the school room neat and clean, sweeping and cleaning blackboards daily, scrubbing the floor with hot, soapy water weekly, and had to arrive early to start the fire at 7 a.m. so the classroom would be warm by 8 a.m.
