Rude individuals on rides....

I was surprised at the number of people at Be Our Guest restaurant that would go stand right in front of the rose in the West Wing as the petal dropped, thus blocking it from everyone's view. This was often accompanied by several flash photos of said rose.

I guess this is more discourteous behavior than rudeness, but still annoying. Sigh. Not much to be done about that.

The flash thing on rides is rude. There are announcements and signs everywhere. Also I don't want to see your stupid iPad screen in front of me on a dark ride so you can film the whole thing.

The BOG thing is probably because the CM's encourage it. Ours even told us to go there and she'd take our picture with it. We were in a completely different room. I will admit I felt a little weird going into a dining area to take a picture, but there were a ton of people doing it. The funny thing is the rose doesn't even show up in the picture the CM took lol

This really is not about a ride....I use a scooter and you would not believe all the people that walk right in front of the scooter....don't even get me started on the parades....they go in stand right in frone of you

The CM did the same with our group and when there are 5 girls aged 5 to 11 in the group, they are going to want a picture with the rose. I think they need to fix this & either move the tables away from the rose or figure out a placement where people can see the rose / get a pic and not be intrusive to other diners.

We without a doubt get a rude person every parade we go to. We always go at least one hour early and always have people cramming in on us at the very last second b/c they didn't want to wait for the parade. Parade etiquette is awful for a lot of people.

I have also noticed almost everytime I'm on Tower of Terror there is a group of obnoxious people screaming the whole time in the library and/or on the entire ride. Not because they're scared but because they think it's funny or something. I just don't get it, does being annoying to everyone around you make the drop more exciting?

only every single time i ride TOT.

its so annoying!

i've been on countless times since 1994 and know the script by heart but that doens't mean i don't want to hear it.

i find that in the library and on the ride teens that have obviously been on it before and know whats coming will yell and scream things like "oh my god we're gonna die".

if not that then i find that people that have never been on it have no concept of the ride at all.
in the library kids especially start screaming and crying that they are in the elevator already and want to know when its gonna fall.
on the ride the parents are trying to explain whats gonna happen instead of just letting the kid experience it.
if its an adult that has never been on they are freaking out yelling "i'm scared! omg when it is coming?! now?!?!?! no???? when?!?!?!"

i'm all for people yelling and screaming during the drop but prior to is just irritating.

We were there in Jan and having breakfast at H&V (Great time BTW) and the couple next to us (with two young kids one in a highchair) spent about 20 min arguing about how they should have used dining credits instead of paying out of pocket (or the other way around), it was getting pretty hot and it was clear the kids were upset about it, I really wished they would have stopped but they kept going. Happily my daughter didn't notice it since she was too busy eating and watching all the characters etc.
It just drove me crazy, they were super close and I really didn't want to hear them fighting about the money.
I just kept my head turned away and sighed internally.

My actual rudest experience was 14 years ago. This was the old bakery floor plan. I was sitting in a wheel chair at the case. Parade was either going on and about to start and I think this was back when they did not have the traffic patterns in place to help facilitate getting down Main Street. A group of young men decided to cut through the bakery, but it meant cutting through the line that was in the way. They straddled me since I was blocking the path.

Who does that?????

in the stand-still mob out of MK after wishes once, my 3yr old was suddenly so desperate to go to the bathroom she was crying. We finally made it to the intersection to turn off left to go towards noodle station and a scooter to my left was the only thing between me and the walkway to the left to get to the bathroom. I politely asked the scooter rider if I could walk in front of her (to make a left off of main st) as I pointed to the left towards noodle stn when the crowd started moving forward on main st in order to take my (crying) child to the bathroom and she responded hatefully "no, you will have to wait like everyone else". I was so stunned...really? she thought that everyone else leaving MK was trying to turn off main st to go towards noodle stn to the bathroom??!?!
finally we made it to the bathroom, after my child relived herself and we were washing hands at the sink, hateful scooter rider came walking into the bathroom and snidely remarked "well, I guess cutting in line will get you here faster".
Since when is there a line for the noodle stn bathroom that starts at the partners statue...?

My family still recalls with disgust how the scooter rider wouldn't let me through to take toddler to the bathroom.

I hear you! I usually scream "WHAT PART OF NO FLASH PHOTOS DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND????" then go on my way. I refuse to let the rudeness of others ruin my WDW trip. Especially people not watching where they're going and slam into my ankle pushing a wheelchair or stroller (true story), but that's another story...

Some bloke straddled me on a plane once to go to the bathroom (he'd never been on a plane before) so it actually does happen.....

That awkwardness I can understand a little. In a bakery when one is impatiently in a hurry and seeking passage through a venue that was not intended as a detour..not so much.

My worst ride experience ever was on Star Tours with my family in 2000. It was our first Disney trip, so we didn't realize that if you get motion sickness, Star Tours isn't the best ride. So me, my dad, and sister are all closing our eyes, trying not to puke, and these German tourists sitting behind us are just screaming. I mean, screaming so loud it actually hurt to hear. No one else on the ride was going crazy, just these idiots. They were screaming like this was the scariest, craziest ride they'd ever been on. As they walked off they were straining to talk- that's how loud they were screaming.

I guess they weren't rude necessarily, but it was just overkill. And I was sick so low tolerance for stuff!

We must have experienced the same group of people 12 years apart because this sounds like them on HM that year!

I am prone to motion sickness also and find Bonine works the best for me. Star Tours still gets to me some times but not as bad as it used to.

Never had a bad ride experience. I did have a very mean man take my table (which had my band, napkins, and silverware on it) and tell me to find somewhere else to sit though at BOG when I was there solo.

Side note, People who use flash on HM are big Eeyores.
No offense Eeyore.

I will encounter at least one rude person and often more each day I go to Disney. I go 1-2 times a year and have since 1998 (in 2006-07 I lived down there and would go at least twice a month to either Disney or Universal). If I let every rude person bother me, I wouldn't have a good time. Now understanding there are levels, if it's something that happens and is over as soon as it starts, then why get upset or let it bother me? However, if it's something neverending (someone repeatedly taking flash pictures or talking over the ride) and they don't know when to stop, that is a different situation. That is a situation I will likely say something.

I always secretly hope that the people who feel the need to film the entire experience in the ToT on their iPhones in front of me somehow lose their grip, and thus their phone, on the drop sequence.

Yes, this and I also feel this way when I see idiots taking selfies with selfie sticks on rides!

Yes, I have several.

On trip with DBF last Fall, we attended the MNSSHP. I was very excited about this because I am a HM fanatic. Well, we get to the HM and after waiting in line patiently it's finally our turn. The Ghost Host narration on this ride is everything to me and even though I can recite it in my sleep, it's rather rude to and I don't while on ride. Well, apparently the guy that ended up standing near us in the stretching room missed that memo. So, after ruining that for me DBF and I decided to stay behind for a few reasons, one being that I wanted to hear the gargoyles whisper (been on my bucket list) and the other was to let him go ahead so we weren't stuck with him the whole ride. Well, guess who else decides to stay behind and talk and talk? And then ends up on the ride in the buggy behind us? Yes, you got it, Mr. Annoying.:rolleyes2 He talked the whole time (reciting narration) and made unnecessary noise. I was so peeved.:crazy2::furious: It totally ruined the whole ride for me. Afterwards, DBF and I decided we would just ride again but at that point the line was so long (standby line only for the party), that we decided to just move along.

On the same trip, we lined up on MSUSA over an hour and a half prior to the Boo to You Parade, this is the only parade I can ever remember being so excited to see (well besides Spectro every time lol). We lucked out and happened to strike up a convo with another couple who were sitting next to us and they happened to be from back home! LOL So over the next hour and a half (even through a rain shower) we teamed up against rude people (esp ones with strollers) who wanted to jam their way through and steal our seats. I can't believe people who want to call you several expletives just because you were smart enough to be there ahead of time to reserve a viewing spot and hold your ground to defend said space. It was ok though, because this family ended up getting escorted out a bit later when they were caught without MNSSHP wristbands and tickets.

The other experiences happened on my trip a few weeks ago. Again, HM. (Can you see a trend here?) Though this one ended up being kind of funny. There were these super annoying late teen/early 20s girls and they kept talking VERY loudly about this isn't scary etc. Well, I had struck up a convo with one of the maids in the foyer about something HM related and noticed that she realized that they were annoying to a few of us. So, we all load into the stretching room and these girls happened to be standing next to me and two guys I had been talking to in line (they found them annoying too), and well right before the lights went out the maid and a butler had worked their way surrounding these girls in the room. So they screamed their heads off when the lightning strikes and the lights go out. They screamed a blood curdling scream while myself and these guys and several others were cracking up!:rotfl2:Then the lights came on and they realized the butler was behind them and they screamed again. :lmao: The girls were quiet for the rest of the ride.:woohoo:

The other instance was on BTMRR. What made me mad the most was that there were several "no selfie sticks" signs posted in the queue, yet about 10 times during our wait in line, a group almost hit my young nephew and myself with their selfie stick. I finally pointed at a sign, and then sweetly told them to get it under control and put away or I would put it away for them permanently. No problems after that lol!:rolleyes1

This wasn't flash photography, but a similar situation that really made me mad. On our last day at HS, we were on ToT, my FAVORITE ride. There were two teenage boys in the front row who were generally kind of talking loud on the ride, but not too bad. As we go through the starfield to pull into the elevator shaft, which as everyone know is pitch black and part of the suspense, this jackalope fires up the flashlight on his iPhone and starts looking around! Way to ruin the magic!
