A few months ago I asked this same question and got some wonderful comments and information. Well I'm back for more...

I am looking to relocate from North of Boston to the RTP area. I have an interview with a company located in Pittsboro NC.

Where would be a good place to live to be convenient to Pittsboro as well at the RTP.

Is Chatham County a good county for quality schools?

Since I can't answer your question, I'll just bump this back to page one for you

We've not lived in the Triangle for several years, but my impression from friends is that the Chatham Schools have improved a lot in the past few years. 20 years ago I knew a number of people who moved from Chatham to Chapel Hill when it was time for their first child to start school. Chatham County then was still largely rural and the schools were not awful but they were not of the quality of some of the surrounding areas.

The best schools in the state are probably still the Chapel Hill ones, especially for high-achieving kids, but you pay a lot for it in both a school district tax and expensive housing. I would highly recommend living there is you can afford it, but be warned that it is expensive.
