I know that the cast members utilize those red cards to time how it takes guests to get through the various lines (FP, standby, single rider). On Thursday, my friend was done but I had a FP for Incredicoaster and she encouraged me not to miss it, so I went over and was done fairly quickly, so decided to stop by Cars Land and see how long the single rider wait for RSR was. The cast member at the front of the line told me "five minutes," so I happily texted my friend asking if she wanted to join, She said no, but that I should go anyway and I joined the line. It was then a 35 minute wait. Now, I probably should have been able to deduce this from the standby wait line, except, it was a similar time last year when we breezed through the single rider line. Is there an explanation for such a significant difference in the time the cast member told me and the actual wait time? Was it just that out-dated? Did I just miss her saying "THIRTY" before "five"? Either way, it was worth the wait and enjoyable, but I felt bad because I ultimately left my friend waiting for far longer than I intended and after the first ten minutes (leading up to the umbrella where standby and FP meet), I really thought I might be done in 15 or 20 at least, and not 35. It's all said and done now, and no harm done, just curious why this might've been, and if there's a trick to avoiding it if the cast members don't have accurate info.
