RSR pixie dust

... Amazing how many jump to conclusions and judge someone so quickly. And how they can feel so bold from behind a computer screen....
In this case, nobody jumped to anything at all. The OP told us her story and we told her our responses. Please show me where one person jumped to conclusions.

I don't think OP expected the reaction she received. From what I understood, she and her family are there RIGHT NOW...and quite possibly this caused her stress and sadness...while in DL!!! The most magical place on earth right?

I hope you and your family are having a wonderful time in DL and a very happy 7th birthday to be celebrated! :)

Pixie dust...it's a wonderful thing! I hope too, to be able to spread some magic and have been following that thread, reading the heart warming stories :)

A few people assumed the family told their kids to lie. Beside that, nobody jumped to any conclusions.

It's funny when people judge and jump to conclusions about others judging and jumping to conclusions. I don't thnk they understand how silly they sound.

Nothing like sharing your Pixie Dust Moment and then getting Flamed for it....

Well, she's the one who put the whole story out there, not just saying "someone gave us their fast passes to RSR isn't that great pixie dust?" I mean, why would you take your kid in the SR line again when you knew it had upset him earlier in the day and THEN say you would refuse to go on the ride if you didn't sit together? That is the exact OPPOSITE of the point of the single rider line. Wait in the regular line. Why are they entitled to a shorter wait than everyone else with little kids?

Wow. I'm shocked at some of these responses. I love these boards but....wow.

To the OP.....glad you for some pixie dust! That's awesome :)

You didn't present any of this in your OP though. Almost 7 does not always mean turning 7 on this trip. And I guess it was nice the that CM let you get in the SR line, but the rule is already 7, not almost 7. We are all responding given the rule. You are also the one who said your son cried when separated from you earlier that morning. Nobody thought you were doing to intentionally upset your son, but you did do it knowing it upset him previously. And the point of the SR line is to ride single, not wait until you can ride together. If you must ride together, then you skip the SR line. You are lucky that somebody was so easily & happily willing to change spots with you, but you are asking a lot of other people to assume that would happen.

We can only go by what you posted and your entire post sounded like you skirted the system, both with their ages and the purpose of the SR line.
I agree, especially when you had someone move for you in the morning. I have witnessed this twice at RSR where the kid in the single rider line freaks out and some nice person who has waited in the looong line gives up their spot for the freaking out kid. I wish the CMs wouldn't allow it. It irritates me.

It certainly seems to just encourage folks to do it again, doesn't it?

Exactly. It puts everyone in an uncomfortable situation, just awkward all around. Single rider means single rider.

I am sure there will always be a nice person who will allow a child to ride with their parent instead of single rider, but it's certainly not the right thing to do.
Wake up early to avoid lines and get fast passes - that's what we did!
I was just at Disneyland for two days and went on RSR a total of 4 times with minimal waiting - I just had to plan ahead. I don't recall seeing any kids in the single rider line - most people seem to know what the line is for.
