RSR is down...maybe for awhile

Glad to hear it back up and running, hopefully it stays that way. I'll be in the parks at the beginning of July, looking forward to my fav ride at DCA!!

Back online. We just rode it before taking our afternoon break. CA was not our starting park so we booked the ILL earlier and it gave us 1:05-2:05 which was perfect. We got the Ramone side and all the animatronics worked fine. They might’ve take the time to fix them.

The tractor tipping part? He moved back and forth. His voice was in and out. Ride was great.

Yes! We arrive tomorrow! I’m so happy to hear this, especially for my traveling companions who have never been to Disneyland and had this ride near the top of their lists!

So it looks like RSR was down again yesterday, anyone have any speculation as to how long it may be down? Our trip isn't until August but as a WDW vet, we decided to go to DL this summer because my 6 year old son is a huge Cars fan and it would be crushing if RSR was down. I'd seriously consider moving our DL trip if I knew RSR was going into a refurbishment.

It never opened yesterday but it’s not supposed to be down for refurbishment. It made the park pretty difficult yesterday especially using Genie+ because all the LL return times were so far out we couldn’t ride many things. It was really disappointing. It didn’t help that it was extremely crowded yesterday. From 9am to 1pm we were only able to ride three LL rides (Incredicoaster, Soarin and Guardians). We also rode Goofy’s Sky School but via standby not using Genie+.

Oh my gosh, we never returned after 1pm, that sounds nuts. DL was much the same. Huge crowds, loads of breakdowns, long lines everywhere. We only managed four rides in DL from 1pm to 8pm despite having Genie+ .

Its really disappointing to hear about the breakdowns….but they way the park is being run, its inevitable….

I was hoping they would have gotten their act together knowing big summer crowds were on the horizon.

For what it’s worth, CMs out front are saying RSR will open today, but no estimate when.

This is different than yesterday when the CMs out front were saying that it would not open yesterday.

Man, seems like we got lucky early last week with it reopening the day or two before we got there and staying open pretty much the entire time we were there. I feel for the people who rarely get there or are on their first trip and don't get to experience this ride. It's the best ride at DL, and one of the best between DL and WDW, IMO.

I'd say second best because most people think Rise of the Resistance is better.

When I rode RSR last week, Frank didn't come up and Doc didn't move (only his mouth moved). Mater worked though.
It's unfortunate that it went down again but hopefully this time, they'll actually fix everything.

I've been on Rise multiple times. It's a great attraction, but I have some gripes with it. As an overall experience, I have to go with RSR. But it's so subjective, of course. "Favorites" always are!

Yesterday was interesting, they were taking ROTR standby up until 10pm! We got in line at 9:30pm and were riding by 10:15pm. I wonder if they were pushing the ride because of the other operational difficulties everywhere else.

They were running B mode for ROTR (no lightsaber through the ceiling, Kylo Ren on a spaceship outside the blow out room), but I was pleasantly surprised we were even able to standby it.

I wonder if RSR going down all day had to do with it running until 2am that day because of grad nite? That poor ride, hardly a break in 10 years, it's tired.

I didn't know that was B mode I would be so sad, the lightsaber is my favorite part.

Wow that would stink. We rode yesterday (sun) and everything was working great.
