RSR FP question

How fast are RSR FPs running out these days?

We're thinking of having the day of the Avengers 1/2 (DH is running it) be a DCA day for us. DH will likely cross the finish line around 9am or so (based on his wine and dine 1/2 time last year). If we enter the park around 10, will there be FPs left? I know they may be evening FPs at that point, which is fine..it's just adults who are going to ride and we will be able to use Rider Swap and Single Rider options. I'm just trying to figure out if I should enter DCA with my ticket and get 1 FP before heading over to find DH at the finish line (which we then use RS with later), or if we'll be fine to get FPs for everyone if we wait and all enter DCA together.

(There are 5 total in our party...4 adults, and DD who is less than 40").

Fast, we get there (DCA) around noon and barely get a FP for 8 or 9 pm

Hmm..if it's at 8 or 9pm at noon, there should still be availability at 10am, then, I'd think..

Are the FP+ machines open during EE? Or do they just allow lining up for the FP? We aren't onsite, so we can't access EE, but the day I'm thinking of with this post is an EE day for DCA.

You should be okay. Last week, we got FPs at 1:30 for a 10pm return time.

You cannot get one during EMH. They also do not allow you to line up prior to opening anymore.

Will we be able to enter DCA from the GCH? Based on last year's hours, EE would be at 8am, park open at 9. If DH is crossing the finish line at DLH at 9ish, then we could maybe hit up FP for RSR on our way back to the hotel to get my parents and DD..maybe around 9:30-9:45ish? Or would we need to enter from the esplanade?

Hi. Between the race and it being EE plus SoCal AP is not blocked on Sundays, the parks will be busy. I wouldn't delay getitng FP's. The FP machines are never open during EE. But the passes can deplete a bit faster since EE'ers will line up prior to regular opening to get an RSR FP as soon as the machines are on.

I could be there at 9, but it would mean missing DH cross the finish line (which, while not horrible and totally doable, I'd like to see if I can)...please see my question above about entering DCA on the way back to the hotel from the finish line :)

I know people have reported that the hotel entrance can be closed to all but hotel guests at opening and a bit after. I can only speak from our experience - we have used that entrance many times right at opening (just cause our son thinks it's cool) and have never once had a problem.

This past Thursday, I was able to get a fast pass at about 2:00 for a 6:30-7:30 return time. That was mid-week though. Just keep calling Ask Otto and ask what the return time is. If it looks like you are going to miss out, then run over there and miss seeing your DH cross the finish line.

If you are staying at one of the 3 DLR hotels, yes. Otherwise, the DCA gate doesn't open to non-hotel guests until 11am.

ooh, I didn't realize Ask Otto did FP return time. I will definitely make sure that # is saved in my phone. That's a good idea. Thanks! :)

thanks! I had heard it was only for hotel guests, but wasn't sure when it opened to everyone (as I know DH and I have used it in the past, but it was evening).

Yep... just ask "What is the current fast pass return time for Radiator Springs Racers", and he will tell you. We did a fast pass first thing in the morning, but I knew I wanted to ride at night too. I just kept calling after every couple of rides or attractions until we got to an after dark return time. Then I ran over there and pulled a fastpass! That worked out so well. If I had tried to guess when a nighttime return time would have been, I probably would have gone over there around 11-12. Nighttime wasn't available until about 1:30 though. Definitely saved me some leg work!

I've heard riding it at night is amazing! I'll be happy if we at least get 1 ride each on it, but it'd be awesome if we can get 1 day and 1 night ride in

We found the single rider line to be pretty quick last week, but this was during the week. The parks were pretty crowded so DH and I really took advantage of Single Rider lines for lots of rides.

We definitely plan to take advantage of Single Rider for the things only DH and I are interested in riding!

WE are going next weekend for the Disney's Avengers Half as well... I've been going to Disney every year since I was little, we live in Arizona, I've never heard about Ask Otto....this sounds amazing, could you share what this is!?

You don't need to call Ask Otto. The DL app shows what return times are being distributed. We really enjoyed having that info at our fingertips.

My girls forgot their hotel cards yesterday and were turned away from the GCH entrance at 10:30. No one without a room key until 11:00.
