Sorry about changing my user name but I am new at this so I had to change it around a bit. I do have another question about RPR. Once again its me and my 4 kids going (16,14,13 and 12 yr old) and I booked us a standard room. They told me it would be plenty of room since we can rent a cot. They also told me that there is a sofa in room. But looking at pictures I didn't think so. But I'm having doubts about if I should go for the next size up. Is the cot comfortable?? Any suggestions??

I don't recall there being a sofa in the standard room, however the walls at RPR are paper thin so it might not be a bad idea to upgrade just to get a quieter floor(more expensive rooms) with less partying teenagers.

check out that link.
it explains the different rooms.

the standard room could be tight if you rent the roll away bed.
that will lost you $25 a night. those that do rent the bed usually put it between the window and bed

there are no sofas in the standard rooms.

you could have housekeeping give you additional sheets/linens, blankets and pillows and make a pallet on the floor between the beds for one person.

and, you would avoid the extra charged for the roll away bed.

Are the walls thin at RPR? Wow, we heard absolutely nothing when we stayed there so we must have been real lucky.

5 in a room is very doable.Thats if you dont spend your trip in there.
I have slept on the couch and is pretty commfy.Only for a 3hr nap tho..
Youre kids will not be spending much time in the room.Way too much to do!!:thumbsup2
And yes the rooms are quiet, you will hear more noise from the hallway then the rooms beside ya!!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I was hoping that the rollaway beds are somewhat comfy. I just hate to spend another $700 on an upgrade.

5 in a room is pretty doable, particularlly with teens because you won't be stuck in the room altogether the whole time. They are old enough to go to the pool and explore the hotel alone. Your older ones can certainly hop a boat and go back to the parks in the afternoons by themselves while you hang at the pool. (That is the reason we always stay on property with out teens) If you buy them a meal ticket they can even get food without you having to dole out cash every time they go off on their own. We bring a blow up air mattress and request extra linens when we go. That way during the day it's easy to deflate and store in the closet. Have a blast!

when i have stayed at rph, i had no issues with "thin walls", never heard a peep.

i did hear the housekeepers in the hall way when they were at the door, but that was the same for me at the other 2 hotels.

have not read much on postings about "thin walls" at rph.

I've stayed at RPR twice now and found it quite comfortable, quiet and roomy. We had our niece + 2 nephews stay with us last time and we were fine...although they were ages 4-11 so perhaps a bit smaller than your teens!

RPR is the best resort at Universal IMHO. Great pool for the kids, lovely landscaping and you can't beat the location!

Enjoy!
