Day 7 - 7/20 - Sunday

Well, it was over... our stay had come to an end. We looked at our bill on the tv and did the fast checkout that way as well. The bellguy came and got our luggage and we were out of there. We spent the next few days in Melbourne visiting family before the long haul back to New York.

We had a great time. I want to thank all the wonderful people on these boards for such valuable information and tips. We couldn't have had such a great time without it. And I can't tell you how helpful Kelly Monaghan's book was. I would suggest it to anyone going to Universal. We've already loaned it out to friends who are in the planning stages of their own trips. It even came in handy when we got back to NY. Thing2 managed to lose the Scrappy Doo she got at Universal... ZOINKS!...I called the shopping number in Kelly's book and was able to order her a new one. She got it the other day...Like...Cool Man!

I enjoyed writing this report, and I hope everyone enjoys it, too. It did get a bit long here and there, but I was trying to be as descriptive as possible. If anyone has any questions, please ask... I'm more than happy to try and answer them.

Deb,

I'm new at this as we've never been to Universal. What book are you speaking of as I'd like to get a copy. It seems to me that visiting Orlando has become a science in itself.

Did you enjoy the RPR? What is the Mariner's club? It is something a 13 year old boy would like?

Did you hear anything about the Luau and the resort or at Seaworld?

Thanks for your patience. I'm as lost as a goose!

Myrtle.

Deb:

I've enjoyed reading your entire trip report! Thank you very much for writing it!

I agree that Kelly Monaghan's book is AWESOME! What I think is more awesome is that he frequents THESE boards, and offers his opinions under his real name.

Glad you enjoyed RPR---we can't wait until Wednesday!!!!

Hope you make it back to universal soon!

>>^..^<<

Thanks, I have been following your reports day by day. I am so glad you guys had so much fun. It reminds me of our trip!!! Now- to plan the next one!

Myrtle...

I loved the RPR and would definitely recommend it. I want to try the HRH and PBH so that I have something to compare it to.

The Mariners Club is a kids club that opens daily at 5:30. They usually have a craft of the day at that time. It is a large room with lots of stuff for kids to occupy themselves with. I can't remember the rate per child, but I do remember thinking that it was very reasonable. The counselors will order room service for the kids and charge it to your room if they are there for dinner. There was 3 computer stations with CDs (no internet), sony playstation, cable tv, movies, dvds, books, board games, ping pong and crafts for kids ages 3 and up. There was also a big couch and bean bag chairs to lounge on. I think a 13 year old boy might be bored there unless there was another kid there the same age to commiserate with.

Kelly Monaghan's book is called "The Ultimate Guide to Universal Studios". Its softcover. I got mine at Barnes and Noble. By the time we got home our book was really broken in with post its, fold downs and highlighted pages. I think it was around $15.00 or so. They also sold it in the gift shops at Universal.

We did not do the Luau at the hotel or Seaworld, so I don't have any advice on it. Sorry.

Just keep checking these boards and keep asking lots of questions. Everyone here is so nice and eager to help.

Have a great time!!

Deb
