RP:Read trip advisor report saying "Dogs Everywhere:????

But is there a way to guarantee this?

In terms of allergies, even if the room they have given us was suppose to be "pet -free", I don't think it would make a difference if they use the same cleaning equipment. For instance, the vacuum from one room can transfer any dust/pet dander into another.

I'm just really surprised that they allow pets in all resorts. I understand that they may keep them at a certain floor, but it is possible that a pet owner may visit someone on another floor with pet in tow.

I understand if they are all only allowed in one building. But it doesn't seem to be the case.:confused3

I don't think there is ever a way to guarantee anything. Pet friendly hotels are becoming very popular and even if they aren't pet friendly, you can never guarantee that someone hasn't brought along a small pet.

Call the hotel, and tell them of your situation. If your accomodations are unsatisfactory, let them know.

I suppose that's true. But I'm really surprised that all three onsite hotels are pet-friendly. I just can't believe that we are the only one who has an allergy problem with pets.

Outside of requesting a non-pet room, is there anything else other people can do? It's not really a preference, it's for health reasons.

But then I guess that's somewhat like those hotels who refuse to guarantee non-smoking rooms...that really gets me:mad: .

We always request a no pet room due to ds's allergies/asthma. We've never been disappointed. Rarely even have seen a dog in 3-4 visits. Then again, we always go during off peak times.

There are lots of people with pet allergies. I haven't heard of anyone report back here that they had an issue that wasn't resolved when it came to pet rooms. Just call them and let them know. All Loews hotels are pet friendly hotels. Marriott hotels have many, many pet friendly hotels now too.

Somehow I don't think people are making up trip advisor reports...

The most recent trip advisor report on Portofino was glowing in terms of the hotel, Portofino....Unfortunately, these guests were "bothered" by dogs barking....

To me that is unacceptable and rude for this to exist when guests are trying to relax and unwind....Those pet owners should have been warned and steps then taken by management if the situation persisted!

I understand that it is Loews policy throughout all their hotels to allow dogs, however, please consider the "paying guests" right to a quiet stay!

On two seperate visits one at HRH and one at RPR I saw a total of two dogs and these visits were in June so it wasn't the off season.

We have been to RPR three times and have never seen a dog anywhere. We have been to PB about 20 times in the past two years and have seen about 2 or three dogs total. I have never been bothered by barking dogs there. As far as the room being clean- as I said in another post - we have never had a problem. My son has severe allergies and does great there. He has allergies to the pillows there and they change them out with hypo-allerginic ones before we check in.

There is a number of policies regarding the pets and Loews does enforce them. However, if a guest that is being bothered doesn't complain, Loews is unlikely to deal with the matter.

We are just back after a 3 week stay at RPR and only saw about 6 dogs the whole of our stay. None at the pool area as they are strict about this, and if they did see any they would be told to remove them.
Saw all the dogs in the lobby area, and it was the same last year.

Imagine 3 weeks and you wouldn't even qualify for blue under the new program - ouch!

More on the earlyer post.I did see a man walking his dog and heading towards the pool area around 9PM.He was told by staff that no dogs allowed.

He was kool abot it and walked on..
