Where would you stay? There will be my mom, me and my 20 year old sister.

From what I've heard the Hotel Royal Plaza has nice rooms in the tower but Hilton has the early entry and is closest to Downtown Disney.

Let's assume I can get standard rooms at the same price. For the Hotel Royal Plaza I would have to pay a resort fee and if I wanted to upgrade to a tower room.

What do you think ?

Or the All Stars? I would have to buy an Annual Pass though to get a good rate at this point, but that should work out anyway - since I'm coming back in December...

Since you are a party of all adults, i would go with the Plaza or Hilton. I've stayed at All Stars and its great for the money but very KID orientated. The Hilton is right across from DD. This gives you the choice of using the WDW buses back to your hotel if you want and walking to the Hilton or using the DD buses.
Mary from www.mousesavers.com has reviews of the Plaza if you're interested

We stayed in the Hotel Royal Plaza last summer and really enjoyed our stay. My 14 year old twins just got home from their 8th grade trip this morning. They stayed at the All Star Movie for 5 days. When I asked them about the comparison between the two, they both agreed that the Royal Plaza was much nicer. I was thinking about booking the All Star for the Fantasy Package but have now changed my mind. They were both very, very disappointed!!

The DD buses are more comfortable than the WDW buses ( plush seat vs. plastic). They can be crowded if you're one of the last pick-ups. I stayed at Grosvenor last Aug which is directly across from Hilton and for pick-ups TO the parks we were the last ones so the buses were generally full. We did get seats many times though so I don't want to scare you. When we wanted to return to our hotel we generally used the WDW buses marked "Downtown" and got off at Marketplace. This is no more than a 5minute walk to the Hilton. It really is that close to Marketplace. Also, when we closed Magic Kingdom during an E-night we did take the DD bus back to Grosvenor and we were the "'only passengers"'.

The All Stars rooms tend to be a bit small. If it's just you, then I think it would be OK. But if you have 4 crazy adults, you might be tight on space.
