I just got a great rate at the Royal Plaza through Mousesavers newsletter. Rates till Dec 24 are $79.00 plus a free upgrade to a deluxe room plus 2 buffet breakfasts per each nights stay. We will stay there for 2 nights before we go to VWL

I booked yesterday too! My date fell in the $69 rate bucket! We are driving down on October 1 and have a house rented starting on Oct 2. Our original plan was to drive about half way and stop and spend the night. HOWEVER, we have 7 day passes and if we can get all the way there on Thursday, we could use one day on Friday.

I was very excited to see that rate. It is about the same as what we would spend by stopping in along the way for the night!

We stayed there two years ago and it was really nice. We were in the tower and it overlooked DTD. :)

I've stayed at the Royal Plaza and loved everything about it except the restaurant. Our room was very roomy and I really liked being able to walk to DTD. The bus stops (at the parks) were a little far but the buses were very reliable. $79 is a great rate but don't forget to factor in the resort fee (I think it's $12 a night?) :thumbsup2

can you also PM me the newsletter? we are staying here in November and would love to get this rate!!

thank you!

We used this hot deal last year over thanksgiving. Yeah the restaurant is not fantastic, however the free breakfast was fine, and was free, totally great. Would not be impressed if paying for it. We also used the bus system and we were very happy with it. I think the offer is even $10 less this year than it was last year. The rooms were very big and we were able to get a king and let our son sleep on the pull out which was very nice for vacation. We were usually at a value so 2 doubles.

does anyone know is this "hot deal" from mousesavers is still available? I would love for someone to "pm" me that newsletter. I get them but I must have already deleted it :headache: . Thanks!!

What is the "resort fee?"

I paid $60 per night on priceline...not gonna be happy if I have to pay another "fee" on top of that...

Hotel's web site indicates $8.00 per night resort fee + $ 8.00 per night self-parking fee. Seems like most 3-1/2* hotels (some at 3* level or below) in Orlando area have these fees. Can not tell on Priceline that the fee(s) exists when making the bid - Hotwire will sometimes show the approximate fee before you make the purchase, but not always. You pay the fee no matter which way you book, but seems like something should be done by Priceline and Hotwire to incorporate the fees into the bid. I would rather pay $65 for a 3-1/2* with no resort fee, than a 3-1/2* at $ 60.00 with a $8.00 resort fee.

We staryed here last year for our travel night, and it was really nice. We walked to DTD and had dinner, did some shopping and came back to sleep. While not stunning, breakfast was adequate and free!
