Don't forget that Disney has changed EMH significantly. Anyone can participate, except with respect to riding the rides. You can shop and dine to your heart's content during EMH.

This is one reason we no longer consider EMH to be much of a perk.

IS this new? We always had to show a room key to get our wrist band. Does that still happen? How do they manage it?

no it's not new you still have to show your room key to ride the rides. They have gotten rid of the wrist band. But what they are saying is people that aren't staying on disney property can still stay in the park walking around and eat and go shopping without staying on at disney. They just can't ride anything.

And the key phrase is "stay in the park". If you're staying at a non-EMH hotel and you're already inside the park when evening EMH starts, they won't make you leave, and you can walk around, shop, and eat to your heart's content. You won't be allowed on any rides or attractions.

But, if you arrive after EMH has started, you won't be allowed into the park unless you can produce a resort ID or room key from a participating resort. Same goes for morning EMH; you won't be able to enter the park unless you're staying at a participating resort.

I'm moving this to the Orlando Area Hotels & Attractions board. The Downtown Disney plaza hotels are technically not a focus on this board.

I got a great deal at the Royal Plaza thru AAA for Sept. Looks like a nice hotel, especially for the price we got. I don't care about the EMH.

Am I the only person who tries to avoid the EMH parks on those days. If it is in the morning it is OK but the evening EMH seem incredibly crowded. I prefer to hit the other parks on thoses days.
