Royal Pacific

I need some veterans advice on whether or not we will like the Royal Pacific hotel. We usually stay at the Contemp. at Disney. This is our first trip to US.

Hi there..

I stayed at the RPR in a standard room for 5 nights last August.

The resort had just opened - but you could not tell - the hotel is beautiful, the gardens glorious.... the only signs that it was new
was the construction at the convention area and the new emerils restaurant.

The staff were gracious and the room spotless. We had a great view of the Hulk and the thatched lobby roof from our window.

The pool does not have a slide - but it does have a fun area for the kids - like the bridge of a ship with water cannons and fountains to play in.

Hot tubs were nice - it was a bit of a walk from our room to the pool.

I ate at the Islands restaurant twice and it was a tad expensive but the food was okay. One night Shaggy and Scooby were in the restaurant.


The transportation to the parks was amazing via the water taxis... the crews were friendly and the taxis came regularily. It's a great way to get around.. almost a ride in itself.

The parks are 1st class with great rides and shows. Front of the line access is NOT TO BE BEAT.... we went on Jaws 5 times in a row and passed the same family 5 times waiting in the regular line.. they were really getting peeved at us... but hey - they should have stayed onsite... not my fault!

Personally I think it's much nicer then the Contemporary. the rooms are larger at the CR though, if that's important to you.

I agree with CPM...this resort is much nicer than the contemp...but the rooms are much smaller.

Just to give you some idea of what we like....we have stayed at the Contemp many times...but only when we have to for an event or something...we would never for a vacation...Our favorite disney deluxe resort is AKL, Boardwalk second. We have also stayed at the moderate disney resorts, many of the home away from homes and the all stars numerous times. We are also huge fans of Universals Portofino Bay...even when we made the reservation for Royal Pacific...the girl made sure to let me know the rooms were smaller...I said that's ok...it looked so beutiful, we wanted to try it. We didn't regret it one bit.

The Royal Pacific...is at least, if not better, the same quality as a disney deluxe....the place is beautiful...the service is exceptional...we are very impressed. We will stay there again without a doubt. The restaurants are very good. Boat service great.
