Hi there! Last time we went we stayed in a Jurassic Park Suite on a great discount code. Prices are looking somewhere near $700 a night!!! for us to stay there on our next vacation, which I can't justify. That puts us in the 2 queen with our budget, but we need 3 beds (kids are 12 and 13, boy/girl). Are the cots guaranteed if I reserve one, or first-come, first served like at Disney?

Are you driving or flying? We've taken a blow-up mattress along when it is convenient.

I don't think you can reserve a rollaway per se, but since they technically require you to have a rollaway if you have 5 guests in certain room classes ...

Shouldn't be a problem.

I'm just back from a stay where we required a rollaway bed and despite it saying on their website that there was a charge of $25 a night for, there was nothing on our bill for this when we checked out so hopefully you won't get charged either!

We followed macraven's advise and had star services bring us extra bedding, and made up a pallet on the floor. Just wanted to let you know of another option, or in case a cot was not available.
It works for us...I'm odd & enjoy sleeping on the floor (as long as the kids remember and don't step on me :D )

There is no requirement all guest must be in a bed

If the room allows 5, depending on the group with littles, some parents sleep with kids in the bed

If you have children 8 and up, you can make a pallet on the floor

Renting a roll away is $25+tax per night
And that can push your bill higher than planned

I rented one once for a 6 night stay and found it was more of an aggravation as it took up more floor space

Being stuck in a room due to a nasty storm day with 4 boys was not fun

You store the roll away in your room

Just like kivara said, call star service from your room and tell them you are making pallets on the floor for x number of peeps

Request blankets to make the pallets and extra for on top of the Peeps
Sheets, pillows, towels, etc

The room phone has a button Star Service

24 hours available
Free service for all guests

Put the extra bedding on one of the beds when you leave for the parks

Staff will have all of it folded by the time you return to the room

I used the space between window and bed for one pallet and second one other bed far side

No one got stepped on during the night when nature called

Oh absolutely........you don't need to get a rollaway to accommodate everyone in the room.........

Housekeeping are excellent as mac says in getting you sheets, blankets and pillows etc.......either have a blow up bed or just a pallet..........

There is plenty of space to do this in the rooms.

Like these "Know-it-Alls" above mentioned, there are several options when needing an extra spot on which to bed down.
My autistic son LOVES to sleep by the window so he can make sure that Woody Woodpecker's head doesn't fall off. Again. (Long story) ...:crazy2:

The staff at Royal Pacific is amazing...(and the other On-Site hotels too!) They have always tried to go the extra mile for every request we've ever made.

Lol.......love your posts!!!

True about the staff though, they are amazing.........:thumbsup2

Geez buckeev, you're flattering us again

Lol

Some day I gotta hear about the woody woodpecker head story
::yes::

Unfortunately, the websites' wording is misleading when they say a rollaway "required" for extra person. They don't seem to mean that you HAVE to book one but instead that there isn't a pullout or foldout chair for that extra person.

New web site has some wording that can confuse a newbie

Thankfully we have the Disboards and seasoned posters to "fill in the blanks" and share personal experiences

Looking at the room pictures, people can see only two beds in the standard 2 queen rooms

No sofa pull out chair or couch in the pictures

First I've heard of a person escaping the roll away charge. If not on your bill when you checked out, then you are probably good to go :)

The rollaway does take up a good portion of real estate, suggest going with a blow up mattress.

WAIT! There IS a pull out couch or chair in the 2 queen rooms? That would change everything!!!

2Q room when we were there had:
2 Queens beds (obviously :D )
Large dresser with TV on top & mini fridge & Keurig coffee machine inside
Large desk with outlets and USB charging ports & wheeled desk chair
Floor lamp and large sitting chair (does not open...DS13 tried to sleep in it one night, and said the floor was more comfy :D)
Nightstand with charging ports/outlets
Small ottoman (where I store our extra bedding for the pallet on the floor)

Just realized I probably wrote out WAY too much :)

There's also pictures of what's in a 2 Queen room in the first posts in the RPR sticky.

Actually, on the VAX sales system that Universal uses for travel agents, there IS a requirement for a rollaway for 5 adults in the 2 queen rooms. It may not appear elsewhere, but it's definitely there in the requirements on their sales site. That might be the root of the inconsistencies with regards to actually charging for those rollaways at the front desks.
