I was pricing out a stay at Royal Pacific for July 1 - 5. The following is for a standard view room PER NIGHT for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids).

Stay and play package (includes 2 adult tickets for length of stay) = $234
AAA (no tickets) = $210
AP (no tickets) = $211
ENT = not available
FAN = not available (but she said they received memo today about them being loaded in the system and will be available soon.)

So, the package deal looks the best??? Am I missing something? I would have to spend $200 on 2 adult bonus passes which basically are included in the package. The AAA rate is only $96 cheaper total for the 4 days.

I am thinking of going with the stay and play package.

The prices seem higher since we paid $155 at Portofino last August (but I know we are going at more peak time this year.)

I know last summer our trip priced out better with the stay and play package than if we booked everything separately. You did the math--go with whatever gets you the most for your $$$$.

I did a comparison with all the different discounts, and then checked out the Mastercard offer on Universal Vacations (5th night free) Because the taxes are included, booking through them saved us over $300. We also used the coupon from the Entertainment book, and they took it, saving another $50.

Maggie - you probably already figured this in, but when I have priced packages the rate has been per person, not per room - I know I was surprised at that. Prices at this point are waaay higher than last year - stayed 3 nights in Aug last year at HRH club level for that (AP) !! I hope she was right about Fan club rates - thanks for the heads up ! If discount rates do become available, can you switch or cancel a package deal? If they don't do any discounts looks like you definitely save for the one adult ticket. :smooth:

Are these tickets length of stay passes or could you just save them if you already have a pass and use them at another time? We don't need two passes, but our APs do run out in August. Could we do stay and play and just save the tickets until later or do you have to use them during that stay?

The way they were explained to me was that they were "length of stay" passes so I don't think you can use them at a later date.

Hmmm, but what if you didn't activate them during your length of stay? Like, usually they might say, "expires 7 days after the first use..." or something like that?

I believe (if I'm not correct someone please enlighten me) that "length of stay" tickets are activated the minute you check-in and are good until the midnight of check out day. So there really is no "activating" them at the park. Sorry! HTH :flower:

The way the "length of stay" pass works is that if you stay for 4 nights or more, you can access both parks for the entire length of your stay (from time of check in until midnight of check out day) up to 7 consecutive days from the first day of use (which means, when the ticket is activated at the parks).

I don't quite understand that. So does that mean if you stay, for example, 10 nights, that the tickets are only good for 7?? Or does it mean if we stay 4 nights and activate the tickets on the second day (the next morning) that the tickets would be good for 7 more days even if we weren't staying on site????

When I asked about whether the tickets were valid on check out day, the lady said, "Oh yes, they are good for up to 7 days." I didn't understand that at the time because we were only staying 4 nights/5 days and thought she miscounted.

Okay,

The pass is for your "length of stay" at an on-sight hotel upto 7 days. Which means...

If you stay on-sight for 10 days, the pass will only be good for 7 of those 10 days.

If you stay on-sight for 4 days, then check out (wheter you go to another hotel or not), the pass is only good for 4 days.

So in your case Maggie, you will only be able to use the pass for the 5 days of your stay that is onsight.

Does that help?

We booked the Stay and Play package last year at the RPR for a week at $219 a night for a waterview. This year it's going anywhere from $234 - $288 a night for a standard room. depending upon travel dates.

Thanks. That is how I thought it worked. I just got a little confused when I read your previous post.
