Royal Me This, Royal Me That ~ Disney in December, How About That? *Update 6-1* P26

The pics of the castle are just stunning!!!

You really were due a better night after some of the day's more trying moments. :) I've never actually done any of the extra magic hours because I've been so afraid of the crowds. My plan is usually to avoid the extra hours park at all costs. Maybe I'll try it this year when I'm by myself.

Fantasyland is wonderful first thing in the morning. My past two trips I've gone there right after rope drop and made it on to nearly every ride in an hour without even putting an effort in. That's with leisurely walking from ride to ride. Soooo much better than later in the day when Peter Pan has a 2 hour wait, which much as I love it, I refuse to wait that long.

I'm the same way. I refuse to wait in a 2 hour line...pretty much for anything, and it's just not possible with HRH. I won't do that to him, or myself. You know?

I really loved Fantasyland in the morning on my Septebmer trip, and was totally spoiled by four rides in a 20-30 minute span. Leisurely walking, just like you said. It was great, and that's totally the way to do it.

I have to say, I've read on the DIS about the wonder / horror that is EMH, and I had a great experience this past time. I was pleasantly surprised, and for your solo trip, why not give it a shot? You may have a great time! And if not, cocktails at the Tambu Lounge are only a monorail ride away.

Lapu Lapu anyone? ;)

Ahhh, TK, I am so glad you were able to get your ride on, have a moment with the Castle, and enjoy some time with your mom. What a fantastic update and the sentiments you expressed about the moments that make a Disney vacation completely unique brought a knowing smile to my face!

Thanks, hon! It really was quite a magical evening. :goodvibes

I actually wasn't expecting your evening to turn out so well.....I'm glad I was wrong! I completely understand what you mean about needing to do rides at MK. I can have a grand time at AK and Epcot without many rides but MK is a kinda let down if you don't do rides.

I know! And quite frankly, I wasn't either. This trip had been so hard for me, that this evening was a very, very welcome and pleasant surprise.

And I agree, Magic Kingdom is about the rides. At AK and Epcot, there are a few rides I like, but I really enjoy the atmosphere of the parks. And of course, the same is true of MK, but given that it's the first park I ever went to, I fell in love with it as a kid, and my strongest memories are from there.

I shudder to think of what a 2 hour line would be like for HRH. I can't imagine it would make him happy at all!

I may have to rethink extra magic hours, along with a park hopper to go with it.

I can't wait!!!

To see that castle!!! And I get to see it!! THIS YEAR!!

I digress...

I am so glad you got a BREAK. Go NANA!!!! Fabulous.

And you got to ride some rides. Awesome.

Wishes...I have to buy that soundtrack. I need to hear me some Wishes.

I can't even fathom it. First of all, we'd never make it without a potty break, nevermind keeping him entertained. :lmao:

I would seriously consider a park hopper. I know it's an added expense, but having gone with and without one, I really feel it is TOTALLY worth it.

I can't wait for you to see it. We need someone to train a camera on your face right at that moment. It'll be priceless. :goodvibes

Nana is awesome. And subtle. She'd never outright say, oh, you go on some rides, I'll sit and watch HRH. It just so happened that if we asked her to go on, she preferred to "sit it out." ;)

Wishes...I have to buy that soundtrack. I need to hear me some Wishes.

I love Hallowishes! Are you going to an MNSSHP in September? I know you did it before, but they're so much fun!

I love Hallowishes! Are you going to an MNSSHP in September? I know you did it before, but they're so much fun!

Well...I don't know. I sorta doubt it.

The only night I could go is the first Friday that I get there. And I really need to take a late flight, which would put me getting there too late even for that one. But if I took an earlier flight, I would still be there by myself at first because my friend won't get there till late on Friday.

I think going by myself would be sorta a downer. Especially since I went with such cool people last time. :)

The other date of MNSSHP when I am there is on the Friday of Night of Joy and I will be at that event! (And probably very busy ;))

Everyone had to mention Hallowishes. Just thinking about it is going to put that Boo to You song in my head all day!

I love that song. Don't make me start...:rolleyes1

You know, even though I have been with so many different people at various points in my life, I would have to say I would LOVE to go by myself. OMG! I'd be in heaven. TK Halloween Disney Heaven.

Really there's not much better.

Just throw in Jack Sparrow and a Dole Whip and I'm set.

Although not necessarily all at the same time. Because then this pre trip report becomes very un DIS friendly. :lmao:

Sounds like an interesting trip report though! ;)

I have to agree with TK though. I've only beent o MNSSHP once, and it was with a friend, but I wouldn't let going alone make me miss it. I had so much fun at it. Definitely worth the effort.

All caught up! Grapefruit lotion is officially added to my wish list for the next trip! ::yes:: Right next to the grapefruit cake. I sometimes say when eating something sinful that I might as well apply it directly to my hips. Now I can! :rotfl:

Citricos sounds delightful. I have seen a couple of other great reviews recently. I'm going to have to try it. 2 visits and I never got the YOAMD glow-tini. :headache: It looks cool!

Nana rocks!! I'm so glad you got a true break in the MK. Isn't the castle just marvelous all lit up? :cloud9:

I was wondering if they'll have a new signature drink for the What Will You Celebrate theme.

It's so beautiful. I think that sight will live in my memory forever.

And sitting was good. I was waiting for Mom to wrap up her purchase, and while I did, I called my girl, Tink.

Bless her. Can you believe she actually picked up at that moment when I need her most? But that's Tink. She's always, always there when I need her most. I can't even begin to describe to you in how many ways the DIS has blessed me, and if there were a list, I swear, she'd be at the tippity top.

We're friends.

For life.

And it's just that simple. Even though friends sounds like something too basic for what she and I have. It's deeper than that. It's really like your girlfriend soul mate. You're alike enough to get each other and different enough to amuse each other.

So we had a nice little chat and I told her all my angst and my woes. Which was seeming to be a theme on this trip. When Mom was done, we sort of chatted three way, exchanging pleasantries and whatnot.

After we hung up, I did feel better.

So as we are all well aware, I've not been around for the majority of this TR. Silly life and it's silly obligations. But I'm back in the saddle again (NOAerosmith) and I just caught up with this TR tonight and girl...

this brought happy friend tears to my eyes.

Your description is so right on. We've had this conversation a thousand times before and we'll probably have it a thousand times again but there is a reason for you and I.

We are each other's Luke and Leia but without the weird sibling love triangle bit.

I'm your Mike. You're my Sully.

But I'm still stuck on which one of us is Laverne and which is Shirley. I'll keep you posted. ;)

I'm so thankful for you, for us.

Really, I think the only three sweeter words spoke on God's green earth are:

Captain Jack Sparrow

NOM!

Times 2!!!!

Thankyouthankyouthankyou for this picture and a walk down a nommable September memory lane.

TK, these pics brought tears to my eyes. I WILL see this in person someday, I will.

I'm so glad to be here in time for you to wrap this one up. :goodvibes

It's gorgeous. I recommend you see it at least once. :goodvibes

Man, was I tired. But I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed. No joke. I was raring to go, and I guess it was not just the relief of going home but the sadness of those last few hours in the World. By gum, no matter what the trip was, you are going to make the most of it.

So this morning, we were all so good about getting ready that we were MEGA early for our breakfast ressie. We decided to walk over to Cape May Cafe early, and just enjoy the stroll to the Beach Club.

And I had a pang.

A pang of regret. As I looked at Stormalong Bay, I lamented the fact that we never swam in it. And that was what I should have done the day before. The day that we went to the Magic Kingdom late in the morning and it was a total wash. I thought to myself in the morning, we should go swimming. But I didn't say anything, and I have to live with that. Honestly. If you're not going to speak up, you can't complain about it. So I've learned that lesson. And I've gotten extremely vocal about my upcoming September trip. I have to be. Lesson learned.

So we headed to the Beach Club, and I thought of CP. Who has since resort switched, but that's okay. I took these pictures for her.

- CP, I so pictured you sitting here, or posing the kids. :goodvibes

And now we come to TK's favorite gingerbread concotion of the trip. I don't know why this spoke to me more than the gingerbread house at the GF, but for some reason it just did.

DisDec08-2252.jpg
- I don't know, something about this carousel just did it for me. It was beautifully made, and so impressive. It actually turned!

This may have had something to do with it as well.

And here's some close up shots for you guys.

And even though we were early, we didn't have to wait terribly long for our pager to go off.

I just want to do this the briefest way possible. Our waiter was horrible; we had a great time.

Did you want more details than that? :lmao:

Let's just say my mother has the...do they call it Tables in Wonderland now? Well she has that card. It gives you a discount, but automatically adds 18% gratuity. She specifically did not use that card so she wouldn't have to tip that much. We barely saw our waiter. To get refills. To clear plates. Simple things at a buffet place, you know? And it wasn't done. And I'm not going to harp on it. We had a good time anyway, and HRH really was enjoying himself.

He ate very well, and the food was fairly good. I'm still a Chef Mickey's girl for sure, but given that we were staying at the Yacht Club, it was nice to do something different that was in such close proximity.

Now HRH did incredibly this trip, considering he was still fairly new to being potty trained. We did have a little accident this morning, no big deal, we just didn't quite make it to the restroom in time. I was so proud of him, honestly, he barely wet his underwear, but we did need to change clothes.

And for a four day trip, I considered that to be pretty good. Especially considering the whole Speedway, Mama, I need to pee incident. He was quite a trooper!

As usual, we had fun with characters. HRH had out his Disney matchbox cars, and he would show them to the corresponding character. With Minnie, we lamented the fact that they didn't make one. She's indicating her surprise here.

DisDec08-2632-1.jpg

So cute.

And of course, Donald was a favorite. He really, really plays with kids so well. I often wonder if he feels like he needs to make up for that bad tempter. ; )

DisDec08-2512.jpg

I totally love that HRH's face is covered in this photo. He is my son. :lmao:

So breakfast was good. I was sad that it was "the last meal" but happy because we had more fish to fry, so to speak.

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: It must have been bad. Doesn't she get 20% off? :confused3

Bless his heart!! He did do really well!

Cute pics!!!

Last meal?!?!?!? :scared1:

All right. It is time for you to go back! What are we going to do without a TK TR?? :confused3
