Last year we stayed at the Royal Mansions in Port Canaveral before our cruise. I had posted here before of our nightmare stay but told you all we were giving them a second chance because the general manager Dianna had usured me after my complaints were addressed that our incidents at the property were not the norm.
Here is what happened:
Booked through lodging.com, my husband threw his back out at WDW. At check in I asked if we could upgrade to a floor unit to avoid the stairs. The girl at the front desk was rude and said since I booked through a wholeseller I was stuck with what I got, I went on to explain that I also worked in a hotel and that I was not asking for a FREE upgrade I would be happy to pay. She said no you cannot change it. My husband then tryed to make light of a very tense situation and asked if it was busy....NOPE she said.
Obviously from the amount of people staying there, they could of moved us.
Checked into the Room she said we were stuck with.
There were dirty q-tips, boobi-pins on the floor, pennies , someones broken eyeglasses on our bed, food in the micro from the last guest and was filthy , the fridge was rusted badly, there was sticky spilled all over the fridge and I could go on and on, hair in the bathroom all over the place, ect...
We left immediatly to the store to buy cleaning supplies.(Since I was STUCK with this room I wanted at least clean it.
I collected all the goodies I found and returned them at check out with a nice little comment card that I handed to the front desk person. We then departed for our cruise and has a wonderful time.
When we returned home more than a week later I expected a phone call or email from the Royal Mansions at least apolagizing.
NOTHING, so I emailed the manager and she did call right away.
She asked if we would come back and I said maybe, she sent us a certificate that expired within one year good for the lenght of our last stay. I thought we would give them another chance since she said it was not the norm. Although I did talk to a couple at the pool who said that there room was fine they meet a couple who like us not only were checked into a dirty room but one with two drunk ladies still in it!
We were all ready to book when our nation went on ORANGE ALERT, my family does not want to fly during an Orange alert so I emailed the Royal Mansions and asked if we could extend it (the certificate)
After several days this is the response I received
Ms. Ransier,
I am sorry but we will not be able to extend the expiration of Gift Certificates as we
were recently sold to another company. As a part of the closing, complimentary stays
were accepted, however, extensions are not.

Needless to say I'am not that suprized considering the treatment we received at check in. I will not recommend this property to anyone nor any of my clients.
