Maddi -- I loved reading about how your house got more and more full of kids!! Very cool!

Parkers*momma, I love big families! Sounds like a fun, bustling time with so many kids home :thumbsup2.

Thanks for hanging on to my PM :)

Hello. I am a new swapper and wanted to see if I could participate. I was recommened by a friend. I will be in WDW Oct 16-23. Really in need of a stroller for the 19-22. Is this something that I could participate in? I would need the double stoller (royal carriage). TIA.
Kirsten

Hello. I just joined this board and it was recommend by a friend who did the swap a few months ago. I am interested in a swap for October 16-23 (we really only need it for the 19th and 20th). We will be going to the MK that day. Does anyone have anything available or is it possible to direct me to the right forum?

Thanks,

Kirsten

ok...I had my tearing jag tonight and in a great frame of mind. LOL...as crazy as this sounds, I think everyone needs to take just one day every couple of months and have a good cry. It does the soul good!

OK, as you all may know, I have my Air Force son home for a short leave. He has to head back on Friday. BOOOOO HISSSSSS that is so not right. I know I brag my kids up (puffing up chest-what mom doesn't when they talk about their kids) but I really thought about this alot and just have to share.

I always thought that once your kids grew up the house grew quieter. I am always worried about the day all the kids are gone. After this past weekend, I don't see that happening in my life time.:lmao:

Our home is officially HOME to every child that crosses the threshhold. We have come to realize this just recently. This was our Sunday.....

1 pm....Oldest Daughter and her three babies came home...shortly thereafter, her two childhood best friends (like daughters to us) come over with their babies. Now we have 11 kids in the house.

2:30...Oldest Son, his girlfriend and my 2 grandbabies come over...shortly thereafter his childhood best friend (who calls us mom and dad), wife and son stop in to say hi. Now we have 18 ppl in the house.

3:00...Air Force son and his girlfriend stop in. Now we are 20 kids in the house.

4:00..Middle son, his girlfriend, his Best friend since 2 grade, and two other childhood friends come over.(again, we are known as mom and dad to all of them. Now we have 25 kids in the house.

4:30...Youngest son, his five 16 year old friend and 2 girlfriend are all here saying they are HUNGRY. Our home has always been the "free restaurant" to the kids. Always have homemade cookies, cakes, pies, brownies or something sitting on the table. Know wonder DH has a heart condition. We are now at 33 kids in the house.

5:00...youngest Daughter complains she wants her BFF to come over, so her BFF mom brings her to over to play. Now we have 35 kids in the house between the ages of 3 days to 29 years old.

Supper time...I asked what they wanted and pizza won. I'm not about to make pizza for this clan so I order....get this...Nine 14" pizzas and we ran out. OMG...Kids can sure eat!

We listened as everyone talked-Telling tales of all the rotten things they did while growing up and we never caught them doing it. We couldn't get a word in edge wise. Tons of laughter and joking! Finally about 10pm they gradually started leaving. Finally it was down to just our 6--yes we have 5 children plus Bootsie who lived with us.

They started goofing off and finally spilled the beans....they had this planned! They just to let DH know what he would be missing if he DIDN'T listen to the Dr while at WDW!!! Heavens...I love each and everyone of them!

I mean who wouldn't want to live to be 100 years old with kids like ours!

Monday...a bunch of them came over while we were at work and did all the yard work before DH got home.

Today...my dad and my 3 new siblings came in for a couple of days so Dad can see the new baby.

With all the tests, Dr. appointments, and all that yucky stuff...sometimes it is hard to see beyond the moment. Thank heavens we have such great kids.

Ohh and I have to share this with everyone (Puffing out chest--proud Momma) Our youngest son-16yo-- Starts his Junior year tomorrow and when he picked up is schedule tonight, he found out that he DID get accepted into the AP Classes on three of his subjects. So he is taking College Classes in Math, English, and History. I feel a celebration coming one.

Crying jabs are great....it does give you a new outlook on life!

That is soooo wonderful. Boy you and ur DH have raised some great kids! Thanks for sharing :)

Just an update. We are here now, got both strollers from luggage services without a problem. We have been using #3 with no problems. There is a crack in the top of one of the seats, but it does not affect the use of the stroller. Stroller #4 is pretty much not useable. I spoke with Coleen and she said both she and the swapper before her did not use use it. The front wheel is loose and the support bar between the seats is broken. I do have some tools with us to try to repair it. I wrote to DebraW76 yesterday about the frame that was to be shipped but I have not heard back. I also checked with the resort and they do not have any packages that were delivered for me. I will check with them again tomorrow. I have planned to drop off both strollers on the 27th with Disneynuts777.

I'll let you know if I find anything else out.

Shoot, I was hoping it would be there. Hopefully DebraW76 got it shipped out and it is on it's way.

Off to PM her. :)

I am guessing it is safe to assume that there is no way to get in on the #1 swap for Dec 7 to be the last person on it since it says it closes on the 6th?

Keep me posted....in case I am looking for a frame as well!!!!!

Sorry I did not get on the boards last night but we had 6 tornadoes touch down in our region last night. All I wanted to do was get out of work and get home!! No injuries but the town next to us was hit pretty hard. :sad1:
Power is back on and things are getting back on track.

I'll check in later this evening when I get in from work.:goodvibes

I'm sitting here at work (during lunch - I swear!) and reading Maddi's story about how all the kids congregated at her home, and then chipped in to help out with the yardwork the next day. Tears in my eye... I hope my kids grow up to be as wonderful as Maddi's.

(oh, and I hope I have a house big enough to hold 'em all!)

Thanks! Growing up, I constantly wondered about them. All the antics they pulled or tried to pull. But since they are adults, they are always amazing me. I guess we did ok raising them for the most part. None of the Drink, smoke, or have been in jail...YET!:lmao:

Maddi...received the monthly PM. Just waiting to hear about the frame for #4 and who I am really passing one of the RC strollers off to.

Cannot stay on the boards long. Word got out that I was cooking a Turkey dinner tonight (I actually have a whole night off!!!)So I need to get the table set and ready for 12. No where near your numbers but busy enough for me tonight:goodvibes

I talked to DebraW76 on the phone today. She still has the frame. She recently got it out of storage and is trying to clean up the seat. I'm waiting on a PM from her with the model number so we know everything is set. Hopefully it is the right model number so everything is exchangeable between the two strollers.

As for the swapper...tomorrow is the cut off point. If I don't hear back by then, then just leave it for the next swapper. :)

ok, I just went through everyone's stat page and these are the swappers who....

A) haven't been online in weeks or haven't read their last monthly PM.
B) have been online this month, but their tickers say their vacation is way off from the time they have requested the stroller.
C) been online in the past month, no ticker, so I couldn't verify if they still needed the stroller for their upcoming trip

1..(B)..Picabo
2..(A)..Timmyj74
3..(C)..tinaninea
4..(C)..shannon g
5..(A)..gilliansmommy
6..(A)..natnelliesmom
7..(A)..happygirlagain
8..(A)..starrynyt

if your name is on the list, could you please let me know if you still need the stroller for your upcoming trip.

Hey there,

We returned home today from our awesome Disney trip. :cool1: I had RC #2 while there. I was afraid to use it day 1 because it was so badly torn in the middle. I was ready to put it away for the week but my DH worked on it for about 2 hours that night and got it back in working condition:) He used A LOT of thread - guess all those boy scout years paid off. (I cannot sew at all) Anyway, the stroller held up beautifully.
Thank you so much! :worship:

:worship: Your DH is a saint!!! Please tell him I said THANK YOU! And I am positive all the swappers after you will feel the same way. Thanks for the update!

Got the old RC#5 frame shipped down to WDW today. It should arrive monday or tuesday. Unfortunately since I had thte stroller in storage the seat had started to mildew. So I had to throw that away. even after cleaning it with clorox wipes it still looked pretty bad and I wouldnt' want my kids sitting in it. But from what I hear it is only the frame that needs replacing on RC#5 so hopefully this work out. I also shipped the back two wheels with the frame so I no longer have any parts of the stroller to ship to WDW.

Maddi,
please PM me with your address so I an tell INstep where to send the shipping return label to you since the old stroller will be shipped to you. Or if you prefer you can have the stroller shipped to me and I will take care of sending it to Instep. Either way please let me know.

debra

Smeael and Parkers*momma, so I am looking at #2 when I go in 2.5 months....does a new seat need to be ordered or will that fix hold up through almost 3 more months of use?

I am just asking cause I would order and bring it with me when we go if needed.

Thanks!!

finally got time to post, here at disney with rc#5. it is usable. was worried when someone posted pics with missing rivets. from the pics they posted, i couldn't really tell which part was affected. i would post a pic but i am posting this from a cell phone right now, and not one of those fancy new phones that make it easy to surf the web. anyway, the person using rc#5 next week could try to use two screws to hold the parts in place. maybe two 1/4" or 3/8" screws no longer than 3/4" long. however, u would probably need an offset screwdriver because of the awkward position. tried going to stroller rental to see if they could help me with the parts, but no go. they did help me get the tires inflated tho. other than that the seat cover was a bit dingy but that's to be expected. tried to see if it could be removed to wash but there was no easy way, like snaps. seems u need to unscrew from frame. anyway, i just threw a towel over the seats.

again, the parts with the missing rivets work but u need to guide them into place when u open the stroller. which, for me, wasn't a problem, since i only opened it once a day.

Hi all, well we are now less than 2 weeks away. I think I am all set for both swaps (Tink & Royal), I think I have gotten PM's from who i was supposed too (thanks) and sent my info to who I needed to.

Can't believe it's almost here.
