Just wanted to let you know we are now staying onsite (free dining - couldn't pass that up) at All Star Movies and coming in a day earlier - Friday, November 20th, still leaving early on the 28th. If you need me to pick up a day earlier, just let me know (it show open for the week before me). Thanks again, Ann

OK...You all are going to think DH and I are nuts.

As some of you may know, we live in a turn of the century house that is huge. We have been converting it back to original, adding more rooms (WHY I don't know but we have) jokingly refer to her as our Money Pit Rose Red as it keeps growing and growing and we keep putting more and more money into it.

When the grown up kids are doing their things with the family and jobs, we have a 16 yo cave dweller (he is there all the time) and an 8 yo deva...the baby of the crew. Well, we were talking last night about how quiet the house is going to be in 2 years when youngest DS goes to college so we have decided to extend our family.......

NO, I AM NOT GOING TO TRY TO HAVE ANOTHER BABY--as much as I would love to, I'm getting youth challenged more and more with each passing day. So how are we going to shake this place up and fill up all those empty bedrooms? I can't do foster care...It would break my heart when it came time to let go. Heck, I cried when DS started school this year and he is a Junior! We can't adopt for the same reason we won't have another baby-youth challenged. So we decided we are going to look into exchange students!!! Forget the diapers, forget the midnight feeding, we are going straight for the horrible teenage years.:rotfl: We are going to check into 1--possibly 2 our first year. Hopefully, for DS senior year so he can show them around school and intro them to kids at school. Plus hopefully DD will have someone who shares her interest in Animals.

So that means I get to corrupt a couple more ppl with Disney!:rotfl2: COOL! More reasons to go to my favorite place!

That is so awesome!!!!
If the exchange student thing does not work out I would be happy to come and fill one of the rooms:lmao::lmao:(Can you imagine two Disney maniacs in the same house!!!!)

However at the moment we are off to the airport:dance3::dance3:
Should be in WDW in less than 9 hours!!!

Well if I can't be one of your exchange students, can I get into the swap? :rotfl:

I wasn't sure if you were ready to open it up to others yet, I had seen a few pages back you wanted to hold off. If others can join, I'd love to!

I have a 3yr old and a 9 month old, so definitely under the weight max. We'll be on site from 11/7-11/11 (don't really need the stroller that last day, planning on it being a resort day). We're checking into BLT and checking out of AKV.

Thanks so much!

Will I be able to take the stroller on the WDW Railroad in MK? I'm reading that I can take my own stroller as long as I can fold it up and put it on the floor, but I'm doubting that is possible with the RC's.

Has anyone tried it? Or do I have to walk from Toontown to Frontierland?

It will fit on the railroad. Just make sure to have it folded up when the train arrives. We have done it many many times. :)

I just asked DH since he is the one that handles the stroller. He said he looks for the seats that face each other they are one the front of each section on the train. There is a lot more leg room and space on these rows. If its crowded and he does not have access to the facing each other seats he will just board the train and sit wherever and lift it up and sit it on the sit beside him. I hope this helps. :)

Thanks! That helps alot. I'll look for those seats. I'm psyched that we can use the train. My girls will love it, and so will my feet! :rotfl:

hi folks, i'm back from using RC#5 and just wanted to post some info.

the closeup pics posted by sonnesolsun from post#3373 showing missing rivets doesn't give a good idea where the problem is for people not familiar with the stroller.

instep.jpg

the missing rivets are on each side of the stroller and may possibly be held in place by 2 screws but given the awkward location u would need a offset screwdriver to tighten it. however, as i mentioned in the earlier post, the problem doesn't seem to affect the usability of the stroller as long as u guide the bar into place as u open it.

now for the weird part. i went to the InStep website to look for a parts manual or installation instructions to see if i can figure out what size screw may be put in place, i notice their own picture of the stroller.

as u can see in their own picture, this part is not attched or screwed in either.

so i'm not even sure this is a problem to begin with.

also, on a side note, not regarding this stroller swap, but a fridge swap that i recall some members from this thread were also part of. about 7-8 months ago, i signed up for a fridge swap from lisadr or lruiz292 but when they changed the rules, this swap seemed to go into limbo as i couldn't seem to get any indication of whether or not the fridge swap was still on.

well, i can report that the fridge was found, if it was lost, and i did use it. however no coffee maker or toaster was included as initially listed. so for those that were part of this fridge swap and were wondering about it, i hope that helps with ur trip planning.

Uncle Jr.

Is it hard to guide the bar into place? Will i be able to figure it out on my own or will someone need to describe how to keep the bar guided into place? (can u tell ive not used a jogging stroller?)

i think u will be able to figure it out. think of it like a jigsaw puzzle, the 2 pieces have to fit together. when u see it, u'll know what i mean. when opening the stroller the long bar rotates and sits in the plastic part. if u open the stroller without guiding it, it will completely miss the plastic piece.

Thanks for the update on #5, uncle.jr.

I'm bringing #5 home so we can hopefully get it replaced. I'll be leaving either #3 or #4 in it's place as those swaps are over.

This is a manf defect. Same thing happened to our stroller in my swap. Instep replaced it as that is part of the frame (not something the end user can fix) and yes it is a big safety issue. When it snaps the stroller will be broken.

They seemed to think it was part of a bad production run of frames. Not sure if that stroller came from the same run or not but it needs to be addressed with Instep.

Ok, I am packed and sooooo ready to leave! September 11th is my last day at work. That is even better! So for three days, I'm going to be tweaking the daylights out of our trip.

Each night before bedtime, DH says, "ok what did you change today" LOL

Little does he know, I scored the Wishes Dessert Party on 9/23. This man LOVES desserts and sweets. I'm not going to tell him until we get inside. ;)

Thanks Delmar. That is one of the things we couldn't figure out, HOW it was broken. Now we know. Currently, It is with a stroller sitter, so I will simply call her and ask her to swap it out so we don't have to worry about someone not having a stroller until I get there. That should keep everyone's lil ones safe until I can get it to home.

As soon as I get it home, INSTEP is picking it up and sending us a new one....PHEWWWW!

Thanks again for your help!!

Off to PM DISNEYNUTS777 to ask her to swap #4 out for the broken #5 with her exchange.

Here is the low down.....

Tinkerbelle- Is in great shape. a couple of little stains but nothing to concern yourself over.
We used it all day yesterday at EPCOT and it was a dream.
There is a rain cover with her and a fishy bag with an assortment of goodies.(Wipes, pipecleaners and things of that nature.

RC#1 ---NO UPDATE Waiting on photolover for an update

RC#2- I just picked up and it looks to be in great shape. It has a rain cover and the big hippo shade with it. Whoever sewed the seat last did a fantastic job and it is holding up very well. Neither of the backboards are broken.

RC#3- Is in okay shape. It has a rain cover and nothing else. It needs a new seat. Both backboards are broken. The duct tape job of keeping the backboards together has come apart. I am going to try and enter both of the seats and reduct tape them. I have more duct tape with me and I might be able to get it to hold again. I put DD in both seats to test the broken boards and she could not sit in either side. She is 40lbs and 42" tall.

RC#4- Is in great shape and once I get the shade transfered from the old frame to the new frame it will be in perfect working condition. There is no raincover or any accessories with this one.(unless they are in the box which I have yet to open!!)

RC#5- Is not safe. RUGOINAGAIN never used it as it kept tilting to one side when you pushed it. When you unfold it it does not latch in properly. You need to guide it into placew and even then the right hand side comes undone. I have tried to tighten things but I am still trying to think of a way to get the clasp to stay latched.

OK, #5 is totally out of commission! Disneynut777 is leaving #4 in it's place so we will definitely have a useable stroller for all the swappers in #5. I'll be bringing #5 home with me and sending it back to INSTEP for replacement.

WE NEED DONATIONS!!!!

#1--UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME-WAITING ON A REPORT

#2--It sounds as tho this stroller is in great shape but NO FRONT BAR!

#3--WE NEED A NEW SEAT, RAIN COVER, HIPPO SHADE AND A FRONT BAR.

#4--A RAIN COVER, HIPPO SHADE, AND FRONT BAR

#5--NOTHING IT IS BEING RETIRED

Even if you aren't in a certain swap that might need something, you can still donate towards it. Each strollers information plus the phone number is listed in Post #2-6 of the thread. Even though #3 is being retired and used as a back-up, we still will need a new seat incase I have to ship it to WDW.

Here is a short version of what we currently need:
1 rain covers
1 hippo shades
3 front bars

Each of these items are under $20.00. To keep the swaps going, we really need donations. Post if you are willing to help out. :)

Anyone dropping out for September 28 - 30th? Just checking! Also any specific places to get these parts?
