I'm still working on it. I called INSTEP back but "jane" hasn't recieved word.
As for the original swap host...still waiting on a return call (provided that was still her number, we haven't talked in forever nor has she been back to the boards since Oct. 2008.
I'm still working on my options....if there is a will there is a way.
Funny thing, the strollers are still offered on the net. I found several websites with them. So that is going to be something I am going to bring up to INSTEP. To me, if they are still offering them to site to sell as new with a one year warranty, then there has to be seats available...somewhere.
I talked to both mousermom09 and sonnesolsun--the tears are in the exact same place as the others. It is the seat but not the tushy part of the seat. I do want to make the clear with everyone. It is the middle section on the bottom of the multi-seam where a child's leg sits. The only way they can be any danger to a child is if you let your child step into the seat or stand up on the seat.
The patch is holding the one stroller together fine. On the other stroller-sonnesolsun (#1 stroller), she recieved the new seat but we decided at this point to not put it on. She is very confident that stroller is safe. She is going to go ahead and stitch the seat and apply the patch to the underside.
Mousermom09 is sending the seat to me and if I can get any satisfaction, I will see if maybe adding a 1 inch piece of material to the area that always tears, taking it in to professionally sewn (industrial thread) and trying that.
The only problem is that the seats are total about an inch to short. Adding it-professionally sewn-with a reinforcing patch on the bottom should hold. Another thing I want to talk to instep about.
I know this sounds so silly because I do like the strollers alot...but we have bought how many seats...and it takes detective work on my end to figure out what the heck the problem is. Then when I tell "jane" she admits that we have been sent the newer model replacement seat each time because the other one isn't available anymore. HECK NO that doesn't work...something needs to be done to make this right with us. if they have seats there...one strollers to sell to websites...then please take two off and send them to us. That's the least they can do. I'm going to go through all me CC bills and see just how many seats was purchased (as I know they also have that information because she looked up my phone number and said "WOW, You have really went through alot of the seats...I can see that 340B doesn't work on 265 just from the number we have replaced for you) and see if I can present a strong case to get the RIGHT seats.
I'm on a mission...new "right" replacement seats, new strollers, I don't really care as long as I can get this resolved and keep these swaps going until Dec.
HAHAHA-I even thought about ordering two new 11-AR265 sending them to disney, boxing up the old ones and sending them back....evil aren't I! Onl thing is...they have the wrong seats on them! IRONIC isn't it.
Don't worry swappers, I will figure something out and get this worked out.
