I so just woke up at 8:15...now I'll be up all night. Maybe not though, I feel my migraine coming back

Hope the snow falls just right for all you Northeasterners like me :)

I don't get them alot at all. I got my first one when I was pregnant with DS and have only had a few since then (he's almost 3). I do get weird headaches sometimes in my right eye, but this was full out dizziness and nausea! And, to make matters worse, DH is working and it was just me and DS. Guess who had a second nap and also slept until 8:00? It's all good though. DH is on his way home so he'll take care of DS and I'll go back to bed.

Those are the ones I have. I've learned over the years, just give into them instead of trying to fight them off...they only seem to get worse if I try.

Hope you get to feeling better.

thanks, yeah, I am feeling a bit better now. DH came home from work with a nice can of diet coke for me. The caffeine helps when I take Advil with them.

Girly Girl...let me share a hint with you.:rotfl:

My migraines got to be about twice a week...I mean down in bed for 8-10 hours, black curtains, no noise (just someone breathing made my head feel like it was going to burst), my clothing hurt my skin and even my hair hurt. KWIM.

So after about 3 months of this, I finally broke down and went to the DR. He gave me different meds off and on to try to get them under control... for over a year-this pill and that to prevent them, another pill to take if I felt one coming on, all kinds of pain pills so when they hit. He had me keep a journal for two months to see if it was an allergy...nothing.

About two months before my trip to WDW, I decided I wanted to lose weight. Up to this point, I drank Diet Dew but decided to drink water (still had coffee each morning-need the caffine to get going) because I REALLY wanted to lose wieght...even Diet can hold on the pounds.

About 5 weeks into it, one day I noticed I hadn't had a migraine for about two weeks. I'm like..WAHOOOO. But I couldn't figure out what made them go away. About 6 weeks into my diet, I was craving Diet Dew so I bought a 1-liter bottle. Pure Heaven that entire day...totally enjoying my Diet Dew. That night...BAM Migraine. A MMMMMMMMMMM moment for sure. I went back off it and played around with it for 3 weeks. Each time I would drink Diet Dew....I end up in bed with a migraine. Once I got back from WDW, I had a follow up with the Dr and I shared with him my findings. Yep...I'm allergic to the articifial sweetner in Diet POP.

A lag of caffine will cause a migraine--caffine withdraw or aspretain (SP) in Diet Pop can cause them too.

So we can be heavy and healthy or we can be skinny and sick--what a choice huh?

I had a severe magrain two weeks ago. I had to go to the ER for three shots to get rid of it. I feel your pain.

Welcome to Disboards!!! And you are sooo right--been there and done that. Migraines are the PITS!

Oh my, I don't know what I'd do if I were allergic to the sweetner in Diet Coke. That would stink. I definitely drink more diet coke than I have migraines so I'm glad it's not that. My doc suggested to take the advil with caffeine (and I can't swallow a pill with hot tea) because it opens the vessels a bit to help the ibuprofin get there faster. Works like a charm usually, but like you, I have decided to not drink it because it keeps the pounds on so I've been having water. A cup of tea in the a.m. to give me the caffeine that I need. But, it stinks when the headache comes because I don't hae my magic pill drink :)

Thankfully, I have never had to go to the ER...I couldn't imagine being in that much pain!

Now I have never heard of it...drinking caffine with an pill. I'm definitely going to have to try that one.

Thanks for an idea to relieve the pain quicker!

My dad swears by the juice of a granny smith apple. My DD7 and I are given up Cokes for lent. I hope that this helps break my caffine addiction. Like a good southern girl, I can't give up my SWEET Tea. Thanks for adding me to the swap.

Hi Parker*s Momma, I just PM you about swapping 9/12-9/19. I hope those dates are still available.
